Back in Stevens dimension...

Steven POV

I cried my heart out. Nobody will love me after this.

*Flashback*

*In my dream*

"Why?! Why Steven?! You did it because she wanted to?! When there is something bad happening, people always want to do that!! You were supposed to stop her!!" Connie yelled at me. I was back home. Amethyst was frozen in place, tears rolling down her cheeks. Peridot was struggling to get out of Pearl's grip. Garnet was gone. I don't know where she's at.

"I-I'm sorry!" I said. I grasped my hair in frustration. "I just can't take it!" I said. I took off running for moms fountain. I got to the top. Lapis flew up to the edge of the cliff.

"Steven! You..." She growled. I saw her sigh. Her anger broke loose. "YOU RUINED MY LIFE!!" She yelled. She cried as she summoned a water fist. I quickly looked around. Everyone ran up the hill and caught up with me. They were all looking at me with angry eyes. Pearl was crying. She scowled at me.

"Look, you can't have her back. You don't want me so... I'll leave." I said. I picked up a rock. I slammed it on my gem. Peridot screamed. Lapis gasped and dropped the water fist. Pearl screamed and dropped Peridot. She came running to me. My gem fell to pieces. I poofed. The last thing I saw was Peridot holding my gem pieces. She was on her knees, crying. Then it all went away and I woke up.

*Flashback Ends*

I shook away my thoughts and dried my tears. I'm dead anyways. Mom said I was in another dimension. So, I'm stuck here. I'm dead in the other world. Mom can have my gem. Anyways, it's like I'm meant to be here. I'm human. I was human in the other dimension. Just part gem. Now, I'm full human. I never want to use my powers. Unless the Homeworld from here comes. I saw the others run up.

"Hey, Steven. You okay? You seemed pretty upset about Peridot disappearing." Sapphire said.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I lied. I am not fine. If I do make it back home, I die. What were they yelling about anyways? Oh, never mind. I probably don't want to know.

"Well, it's getting late. We've headed back to the temple. You want to spend another night?" Luzli asked. I sighed and shook my head.

"No. I think I'll find my own place to stay. Thanks. Bye." And just like that, we parted.

....

I found an old barn. Probably this dimensions barn. I climbed into an old truck and got comfortable. I hope is I do dream, it will be good. Well, it probably isn't good. They're never good.

"Mmm... I just hope Peridot is all right." I said. I soon drifted away.

*In my dream*

My eyes opened. I looked around. I am in my gem. How? I'm human now. I tried to remember how I got here, but the last thing I remembered was going to sleep in an old truck. Hmm... I shook it away. This means that I'm back home so who cares how I got here. I saw Mom running up to me.

"STEVEN!!" She yelled.

"MOM!!" We embraced in a hug. A few seconds later, I let go.

"Steven... oh, no." She mumbled.

"What?" I asked.

"You're stuck in the gem, like I was. You can't go home. Oh, I'm so sorry. Bringing you back to our dimension has confused the gem, switching our places. Steven, you can't leave the gem." She said and slowly started crying. Then, she stopped crying. She started smiling. "Not... unless... I die!" She cheered. Why would she cheer over that?

"How would you die?" She slumped back over, sad that the only way she could die was if she crushed her gem, killing us both.

"Uh... I may have to ask Prismarine a way to kill me, but not you." She said. Who's Prismarine. Never mind that. It doesn't matter to me. I won't ever meet her. I'll be stuck in here. I sighed and let mom continue her thinking. The dream fast forwarded me to the part where mom forms again. Now, I see outside where mom is. My form is in the gem.

"Prismarine. I need a way to kill me, but not Steven." She said. Prismarine's jaw dropped.

"What?! No!" Pearl yelled. Rose hushed her.

"Uh... the only way to do that would be to... well... Hmm... we could crush your gem, but that would kill Steven. Wait... what if we used your tears to heal the gem. We could collect a jar full and use it on the gem right after it's crushed." Prismarine said. Rose nodded.

"Will it heal Steven or me?" Rose asked. Prismarine looked beyond all confused.

"Uh... I... don't exactly... know for sure who the gem will pick. The gem has a mind of its own. So, it will pick the one who knows how to use it best. That would be you, Rose." Prismarine said. Just then, Connie rushed through the door. We started calling her Connie because she asked us to. She stopped liking Citrine after she found out what they do on Homeworld. They use their gems to test on the humans and see what kind of organic things are in them.

"It's Peridot. She's awake." She said. They rushed to the Warp pad. They warped to the barn. Peridot limped out of the barn. Her leg was hurt when they reversed her corruption. They were right in the middle of scanning her body when she jumped from our grip. The injector hit her leg. She has been hurt for a while after that. A long while. So to say... around 3 months. Her gem won't heal it. Probably because the medicine that was injected in her is fighting the gem, not letting it heal her.

"Peridot, you're awake!" Lapis ran up to hug her. Peridot's face was emotionless.

"Hello, Lapis." She said. She didn't hug her back.

"You okay?" Lapis asked. Prismarine answered her question.

"She'll be fine. It'll last 24 Earth hours. Then the side effects will go away. Her gem just isn't used to having a form anymore. It'll get used to it though. We just have to wait." She said. Peridot tried to stand up straight, but failed and continued limping.

"Rose, is Steven back? Or did he die?" Peridot asked.

"He made it back. Only, the gem became confused. Steven is in the gem. We were trying to think of a way to kill me, and keep Steven alive." Rose said.

"Simple. You just..." Her voice faded away as I woke up.

*Dream ends*

I opened my eyes.

"Woah... that's what happens when or... I mean 'if' I get back?" I asked myself. I heard someone yelling my name outside the truck. They seemed pretty desperate to find me. "Coming!" I yelled to them. It was Rose. I ran up to her.

"Steven! There you are! I need to tell you something." She said.

"What is it?" I asked.
