I figured I should throw something in with Avery and why he tried to hurt the two lovebirds. I didn't go in much depth with his anger. So enjoy. :)

It was back in the 1800's when the two first met. Elijah was known by other vampires for being the one who would help the shadowhunters. The group of people who killed the demons. They also kept the downworlders at bay, not wanting them to break their agreement. Eli lived in London at the time, the place being one of his favorites since he was born and raised there. He was currently enjoying a cup of tea, sitting beside the fire place while looking out the window that overlooks the beautiful city. He knew of the ruckus going on in the states, the north and south both have a feud. It was a troublesome business but he was not that bothered by it. He sits there, thinking about the war when a knock at the door emits through the room. He sighs, sitting his cup down and getting up to go answer the door. He opens the door and speaks, "Who dares interrupts my pe-.." he doesn't finish, seeing a shadowhunter being help up by another person. "Mind helping us? We don't have any other place to go who isn't looking for either one of us," the shadowhunter speaks up. "Of course, dear. What happen, Jasmin?" He helps the man lift the girl up and carry her inside. The man steps back after the two get her in the couch. The vampire's eyes widen in a bit of fear, seeing the blood. "Shit." The girl gives him a apologetic look, not meaning for this to happen. "Avery can stitch me up. I figure you didn't want to." He nods, the guy, who he guesses was Avery and goes to get medical supplies. "I should step outside. I don't need to be around the scent of blood." She nods and elijah steps into his room.

Hours pass and elijah was sitting in the chair, keeping an eye on his friend who was asleep on the couch. The sun was starting to rise so he was trying to stay awake but failing to. "You can sleep if you want." He glances up at the voice, forgetting that Avery was even there. He had made himself comfortable in a chair, looking quite exhausted as well. He looked very young but his eyes held wisdom, a lot of it. "I should be fine."
"But the sun.."
Elijah sighs, staying in the same spot as the sun began to get higher. Avery was starting to get worried, seeing that elijah had not moved from the spot. "I do not burn. It was only recently. I was injured a week ago and I was starting to lose a lot of blood. I knew I was going to die soon and I had accepted my fate. The thing was, I couldn't just let my best friend get hurt. She was leaned up against the wall, waiting and was trying not to break her facade because I was dying. Slowly, it went away and she broke down , offering her blood to me. Neither of us knew the side-effects of shadowhunter blood on a vampire but risked it for me to get us both out with some vampire strength and speed. I finally noticed something was not right when we were both running away and in the sun. I had not burned at all and we both just supposed it was shadowhunter blood."
The vampire shrugs as he finishes his story, the sun now fully shining into the room. It shined down on him, not leaving any scorch marks. Avery stares in wonder and amazement. "That is amazing." He nods, yawning and slowly standing. "I suppose some sleep is overdue. There is a guest room if you would like to rest as well." The man nods, standing up but suddenly falls forwards. Elijah is quick to grab him, "Are you hurt?" Eli looks down to see him bleeding from his side. "Sit back down. I'll help you." The warlock goes to argue but elijah simply glares and uses his speed to grab supplies and comes back. "Shirt off."
"At least take me out first," he chuckles but complies. The blue eye boy gently but quickly stitches up the cut, his eyes focused on the work at hand. "I am guessing you've dealt with injuries before?" He nods. "Tons. You're hiding something. What are you?" The warlock shrugs, his eyes flashing gold for a second and fading. Elijah nods, standing up and yawning once more. "I shall be in my bedroom if you need anything. Be careful."
That was there first encounter, but certainly not their last. Weeks later, elijah was walking down the side of a gravel road. His outfit a bit overdone but he had the money and spent it well on clothes. His nice suit finished off with a top hat and a nice jacket with gloves. He rarely ever got disapproving looks. Most admired him. His blue eyes and brunette hair got him admiring looks from both men and woman, alike. He smiles, proud of himself as he continues on his walk. The sun was starting to set which could lead to some problems later on in the night. He finishes his stroll then turns to head back to his flat. "I thought I wouldn't see you again, Day lighter." The man chuckles, looking to the side to see the warlock from before. "The same for me. What brings you around, Avery?" The warlock shrugs, "I was out on a walk." The two fell into a conversation. That is how it went for months. Years, even. The two simply remained friends until around the time Elijah needed to leave. People were starting to become curious to why he hadn't aged a day.
"I have to, Avery. You should leave soon as well. They are starting to become curious. We still look the same as ten years ago." The warlock pouts, crossing his arms. "but I like it here." Elijah sighs, running a hand through his hair. "so do I. I was born here, but we must leave and keep it hidden from the public of what we are." The warlock finally gives in and agrees.

1930s
It was years later when the two met again. Avery, of course, missed the lad. He was in love with the vampire. He was during the time when they always relied on each other. Elijah was currently living in a flat in Paris, France. He could speak French fluently and no one really knew him. He was known for his charm but that was all.
He was walking through the streets, a hand gripping onto his side since he was injured and bleeding quite a bit. It was dark out, the sky being lit up by the stars and moon. He felt dizzy and felt like he could pass out at any moment, but he manages to get half way to his flat when hears a voice. "You alright there?" he glances up, seeing a recognizable face. "Avery?" he manages to say before everything goes black.
The next time his eyes open, he is greeted with unbearable pain and a worried voice. "what happened?" The warlock hands him a glass of what looks like blood. "d..demon.." he croaks before downing the glass. He feels instant relief and sighs, sitting back into the pillows. "ah. Feel better?" The vampire nods. "much better. Thanks."
The two once again fell into the pattern. It was sometime in the midst of the fifties when the warlock broke down and told the vampire his feelings. Elijah did not know how to take it. No one has ever felt anything for him in so long. The two fell into a in and out relationship. They did help with World War two and of course, hid their abilities.
They managed to have a unbreakable bond. For a while, really. It was until the beginning of 1980 when Elijah felt like they were not for each other. The warlock was constantly hosting parties or was never home. They were not together at the time and Elijah wanted to be with someone. That is when Demi and Elijah met. The two instantly clicked. Avery somehow found out and went mad. He lost the one he loved. He was beyond furious. At first, he blamed himself. He thought he was an awful boyfriend. Then after years of watching his love be with someone, he blamed the vampire. He told the clans and they were not happy. That is how he ended up being the one to end their happiness. He got to watch the look of love wash of their faces. No longer in love or near each other.
He accomplished his goal for the time being. It wasn't until the two awoke that he had to do something else. To ruin the two. It didn't work of course. Because the two were soul mates and the warlock lost his life.
