Madison P.O.V
I woke up in with an arm wrapped around my waist. I turned over to be face to face with Alec. Alec was still sleeping, a faint smile was playing on his face and he looked so innocent. He opened his eyes and met mine. I blush at being caught and he laughs, pulling me closer. He sleepily tightens his arms around me. He is so close to me. His face is a couple of centimetres away and I wasn't quite complaining.
"Morning." he says, in a slightly huskier voice. I caress his face and offer him a shy smile. "Morning." I replied, Alec's grin widens and he leans his face into my hand, looking pleased. He kisses my other hand, making me blush yet again. I sighed happily as I fawn over this handsome prince who seems too perfect to be true.
"A penny for your thoughts?" he asks, his melodious baritone voice soothing me. I look into his warm brown eyes and smiled. "That's just a shame. You would waste a penny on my thoughts." I said. Alec frowns and without a warning, he suddenly kisses me, his lips soft against mine. My spine is tingling at his touch and I wrap my arms around his neck, deepening the kiss.
He pulls away with a determined look in his eyes. "Don't ever say such a thing. You are so so special, Madison. Why can't you just see? I want to know you more, what an understatement! I want to know everything!" He says, earnestly. I am at a lost for words and instead, I kiss him.
I had always wanted someone to tell me that I deserved better. I was just afraid that nobody would care. Looking into his passionate brown eyes, makes me strong and happy. I can trust him and I wasn't falling for him anymore. I was way beyond that. I was utterly fanatically completely in love with him.
"Madison?" he calls my name, with a smile. I blush as he catches me ogling at him, again. "I'm sorry." I replied, trying to hide my face from him. He sighs and places his hand on my face, gently. "Don't ever apologise." he says, kissing my cheek.
He was just so nice to me. He made me feel like I mattered. Like I was actually worthy of his time and affection. He thought of me as an equal. I was able to stay by his side. I was able to laugh along with him. I sighed happily at my thoughts. It seemed all like a dream.
Deep down, I knew that something bad was bound to happen sooner or later. He kisses my cheek, gently. Just like that, my mind is occupied by happy thoughts. I look up at him and smiled. We get out of bed and Alec swiftly gets out of the room, allowing me to change and shower.
After this, I walk over to May's bedroom to wake her up for school. May is sleeping soundly and there is a weird aura in the room. It's indescribable. Like some sort of magic. Maybe I was just confused after all it was still pretty early. I gently shake my sister awake, she yawns and rubs her eyes sleepily.
"Morning May." I said, softly. She offers me a sleepy smile and gives me a hug. "Morning, Maddy!" she says, her voice bright and full of hope as always. She was just so good, never complaining and always happy. I don't deserve a little sister like her. She should have had a better family.
But I know there is no point trying to think about the past, my goal is to be May's family. I will make May smile and protect her. Keep her hopeful and never do anything that will make that smile go off her face. "Maddy?" she says, snapping me out of my thoughts. She giggles as I bring myself back to reality.
"You're thinking, again! I could hear your brain working!" she says, proudly. I laugh at her smug expression and I help her get ready for school. I pack her pencil case and I give her some lunch money. Together, we head to the kitchen to eat breakfast. I see Alec cooking some bacon and eggs with ease.
"Any kisses for the chef?" he asks, cheekily as I pass by. He stares intensely at my lips, making me blush. I lean in for a quick peck which he deepens and makes my heart throb hard against my chest. He beams as he pulls away, leaving me breathless.
"That was lovely." he says, with a smirk that makes my stupid heart beat even quicker. Could I be more obvious? He grins as I give him a scowl to not give it away. He places the food on our plates and pulls out a seat for me and May. He bows, dramatically. May giggles and sits down.
He watches us as we take a bite. May and I simultaneously let out a moan. The bacon was amazing. I look at him with awe. "Seriously, is there anything you can't do?" I said, my taste buds singing. He gives me a wink. "I think you already know the answer to that, love." he says, reminding me of the day we went ice skating.
I blush again at his words. By now, I think I have broken a world record for the amount of blushes in barely two hours. I shake my head at him, pleased by the fact he remembered that day. May rolls her eyes at us. "Let's eat!" she whines, giving us a mischievous smile. She gives us a wink.
I gasped, May learned how to wink. How? I look at Alec who gives May a high five. "I guess I was better at teaching, love." he says, with a proud expression. He called me, "love". I wasn't so sure the first time, but now that it is confirmed. I feel like I'm floating in midair.
RING! RING! I gasped, returning to reality. I look at the phone which was ringing. A sinking feeling in my stomach. I pick it up. "Hello?" I said into the phone. The next words that I heard made my whole world crash down.
