Darnell woke up to an empty bed and a slight headache. She shielded her eyes from the beaming sun that was coming from the large bay window next to the bed. "Uhh" she groaned as she threw the plush comforter over her head.

"Someone's finally up." Don said as he walked into the room holding two to-go containers from American Deli. Don left to go get them something to eat while Darnell was still asleep. Before Darnell, him and Kay where living off of fast food and hot pockets. He solely depended on Darnell to cook and she was happy to feed her man and children.

If it was up to Don, Darnell would be waking up to mean ass peanut butter and jelly sandwich since that was all that was in his kitchen.

"Don please stop yelling." Darnell whined. Don looked at her crazy sitting the containers on the bedside table then pulled the comforter completely off her body. He licked his lips once the cover was gone and Darnell's naked body was left on display in the large king size bed.

"Girl ain't nobody yelling. Here." He handed her one of the styrofoam cups full of lemonade and two Advils.

Darnell mumbled a "thank you" before swallowing the medicine. She got up from the bed and headed into the bathroom to shower. She took a quick shower then brushed her teeth, and washed her face. She threw her hair into a messy bun before returning to the room and going threw Don's drawer finding a shirt to slip on.

Half dressed she got back into the bed that was now made with clean sheets. She sat back on her side of the bed adjacent to Don who was laying with his back against the headboard and a food container in his lap. Darnell grabbed her container opening it finding fries, wings, and a philly cheese steak sandwich.

After popping a few fries in her mouth she looked over at Don. "Thank you for the food... and taking care of me yesterday. I know I was a mess."

"Yeah you where." The two laughed Darnell pushed Don's arm in a playful manner. "I wasn't that bad. Don't try to play me."

"You was talking mad crazy. I don't think Ive ever seen you that drunk before." Don said getting a little serious. "What made you want to drink like that?"

Darnell bit her lip and adverted her eyes away from Don's putting her attention back on the food in front of her. She didn't know if she wanted to tell Don that she missed him. That she wanted him to come back home. She wasn't even sure if she really wanted him to come back. All she knew was that last night she was lonely without him there with her and when she showed up at his front door he didn't turn her away. He was there for her and she appreciated him for that.

"Yesterday was the party for the center."

"Yeah I wish I could have been there but I wanted to respect your wishes and give you your space." Don responded.

Darnell looked Don into his eyes and decided to just go ahead and say what was on her heart. 'Fuck it' she told herself.

"I thank you for respecting that, but once it was over I was left by myself and I realized that I missed having your company....I missed you."

Don moved his food from his lap then closed Darnell's food and put it up as well. He pulled her into his lap where she was now straddling him. He held her for a minute before speaking.

"Darnell I miss you too, I miss waking up to you and my kids, I miss kissing you and loving on you, and I will tell you this everyday until you believe every word I say. I know it's hard for me to trust what I'm saying, but I want you to know that I love you and I will never do anything to ever hurt you ever again."

When they pulled away Darnell had tears flowing from her eyes. Don reached up and wiped and kissed her tears away. He kept his hand on her face caressing her cheek.
