Tom groaned as light hit his face. It had only been a week at this place and he was already done. After the first test day with physical exams, they had moved on to spelling, then speaking, then manners. The next day was colors, shapes, animals. Followed by Math, followed by What breeding is, followed by the difference between primal instincts and human instincts.

Not to mention he felt like he was stuck around idiots. Not Jerry... not most of the time anyway. So the mouse man still had trouble figuring out how to get dressed, and sometimes he would jump like frightened prey, but that wasn't too grating on his nerves. No, what irritated him was walking down the hallway and feeling a cold gust of air as two animorphs ran past him, leaving explosions in their midst. Those same two would never clean up after their chaos, leaving it to the rest of their group as they jokingly poked at one another. Then there was Tweety, who of course couldn't walk, but he would also subtly insult most everyone. When the person got angry, he'd just flutter his long eyelashes and ask, "why are you bullying me?" and start crying crocodile tears until they backed off. Smugly, he'd then cross his legs and look around for his next victim. Sylvester wasn't too bad, but goodness was he dense at times. He wouldn't get the subtly of jokes or insults until much later, when everyone else had moved on. He'd suddenly get offended at insults aimed at him hours ago. It was hard to make conversation like that.
And then there was those outside of the group.
"Hi, Tom! Narf!"
"Hi, Pinky."
"Do you think they'll be serving the green jello? It makes my stomach sloosh in a fun way!" Tom stared at him. They hadn't served jello for as long as he'd been here. Pinky was an...enigma. He wasn't the brightest in subject matters, in fact he was in the lowest classes in the school, apparently. Still, he was friendly and one of the best at acting like a human and knowing pop culture. That innocent sort of charm could help him make many friends, but he still remained stuck at his less friendly companion's side. Speaking of which-
Brain looked over to Pinky, confusedly. "Pinky, they have never served Jello here."
"Narf! But Brain, I had some just yesterday!"
"Pinky," he covered his oversized forehead with his hand. "That was Slappy's creamed spinach." In Tom's opinion, Brain was stranger than Pinky. Smart, too smart. He seemed to be able to even convince some of the scientists to give him extra freedom ("Me and Pinky are patients zero, we are your control group. If you experiment on us, you may miss long-term effects that wouldn't happen on the newer...'Students.' ") He also seemed to only have a kind side to few people. Pinky, of course, the Warner kids, and strangely their odd group. Though his liking to their odd group may be mostly due to Jerry being semi tolerable in the "smart mouse" category.
Zoning back into the rest of the group's conversation- "Look, all I'm saying is most animals who have pink or white hair are girls and most girls have pink or white hair here." -was a mistake.
"What about him?" Tweety, with his improved speaking skills, pointed at a small, pink haired man having a mental break down.
"Muriel." He whimpered and shook on the ground.
"Okay," Sylvester said. "That's one example."
Wile held up a sign "Does reddish pink count?" and pointed to another man having a break down on the floor.
"Jessica!" The bunny man said, also on the ground.
"Okay. That's only two. And his hair isn't really pink."
