Chapter 2

I'm sitting right in front of my best friend Kristy. While I'm reading a book by James Patterson. Kristy seems like her head is in the clouds today. I mean she's looking into space, giggling, and smiling like an idiot. Sometimes I think she has more problems than me. Because of that I got annoyed and distracted, so I stopped reading.

"Are you not telling me something Kristy?" I ask her with my eyebrows furrowed.

"Ummm... NO!" She hesitates. She avoids eye contact. Kristy is the only person who knows about my so-called superpower.

She lied. She meant "Yes."

"You know you can't lie to me." I tell her with an evil smirk.

She sighs. "Fine. I got a boyfriend." She says, then smiles dreamily. "We started dating 3 months ago, we decided to become official 4 weeks ago."

"Why the fuck did you tell me now?!" I exclaim, while slamming my book on the lunch table.

"I don't know. I just didn't want to tell anyone." She replied.

"Kristy! You started dating some guy and you didn't tell me right away! What if he's dangerous?"

"Sorry Sky! It's just kinda complicated." She replies.

Kristy looks at her watch with a worried face. "Hey, let me make it up to you. But now I have to go." ,

Before I could say anything else, she was already running out of the cafeteria.

Typical Kristy, she's always like this. I shake my head in total disbelief. I can't believe she didn't tell me right away. From all the things she could've hid from me, she chooses to not tell me that she started dating a guy, and now they're official.

I've never even had a boyfriend before, while Kristy has had tons. She's always so happy, while I'm bitchy and distant, with a fake smile on my face.

Don't get me wrong, I've been on plenty of dates. The only thing they want is to get under my pants.

All guys are liars, but no more than anybody else. Certainly no more than me.

............................................................

I seriously need a car. I don't have a ride. Kristy ditched me to crash at some party. I've never been one to crash a party. Well, I'm barely invited to parties. Kristy is always at parties, invited or not.

So here I am walking to the nearby store for my mother's needs. It's her time of the month again. And she wants me to walk to the store because she doesn't trust me enough to drive.

I thought the glass door of the store was open, so I came running to the door, then-

CRASH!

My whole body crashed to the glass door face-first, which made me fall to the solid ground. Good thing I didn't break the door because I didn't want to pay for that.

"Shit! Are you okay?" Some guy asked me. He carried me bridal style to the bench to make me lie down.

"Are you okay?" He asks me again.

"Yeah! I ran onto a glass door then fell. I'm perfectly fine and I don't feel a thing." Sarcasm dripping heavily from my mouth. Yep, that's me when I get mad.

He does this sexy chuckle. "I'll be right back."

He went into the shop. After about five minutes, he came out holding a pack of ice. Smiling at me the second he saw me. I got a little freaked out. You can't just smile at people like that when their hurt!

"Why are you smiling at me? Are you high?" I ask him.

He chuckles. "I thought you left or something." He says as he squats beside me and puts the icepack on my forehead. Suddenly his eyes go wide in shock. "Shit your nose is bleeding."

I felt liquid falling from my nose. This is so embarrassing. "Shit." I mumble under my breath.

"Here," He pulls out a hanker chief from his pocket and wipes the blood of my face. "You can have this." Awww how nice of him.

"Thanks." I say. I just realized that this guy is helping me and I had no idea what his name was. "I'm Skylar by the way."

"Jonah," He says smiling at me. "Pleasure."

I sit up, so Jonah could sit down because squatting for a long time hurts like hell. I pat the empty space beside me to show Jonah that he should sit.

He looks handsome. Green eyes, a body to die for, and nice wavy hair. He was pretty tall too, just the way I like it.

"I'm Jonah and I'm a starving actor from New York." He says.

"What are you doing here, in this boring hot town?" I ask curiously.

"Visiting some of my friends." He replies. "You live here?"

"Yeah I do. I go to school here."

He asked me some questions and I also asked some other questions. He's 19, he is an actor who isn't famous, and he's a really nice guy. We talked about some random things and we laughed a lot. Jonah's really nice and pretty cute. But there's this one thing that I notice about him, he hasn't lied, once.

"So... Do you have a boyfriend?" He asks.

"Yes." Which is a total lie. I just wanted to see how he would react.

His once smiling face turned into a complete frown. "Oh," was all he could say.

I laughed. I laughed so hard I could feel abs coming. "I'm kidding! I should've took a picture of your face!"

"You suck." He tells me, with his smile once again. That smile which made my heart beat faster than usual.

"How about you? Do you have a girlfriend?" I ask.

"No." I know he isn't lying.

I suddenly was staring at his luscious lips. I wanted to know what it would be like to kiss him. He was looking at my lips too. I look intently onto his green eyes and he looked at mine. Our lips touched gently, it was the kind of kiss that made me wanting more.

Our lips met again, stronger this time, and both our eyes were closed. Sadly, later we pulled away from each other and rested our foreheads against each other. Leaving us both breathless and panting like we had run a marathon.
