"I think your mom likes me," Austin says casually from his seat on my bed. I'm in my closet, trying to find an envelope, because I know I have a box somewhere in here.

"You were getting pretty chatty with her yesterday," I call. "Should I be jealous?" He chuckles.

"Yes. I personally think it'd be adorable." I step out of the closet for a second, just to stick my tongue out at him, before going back to my rummaging.

"No, it'd be weird. You're weird." He mocks an indignant gasp.

"Take it back, Ally!" I smile to myself, and close the door to my closet, giving up my search. "I think an apology is in order here." He brings his finger to his lips and smirks. I can feel the color rising in my cheeks. I cough, and then grab a pillow from the head of my bed, and proceed to smack him with it.

"You wish, dork." I retort, in less of a teasing tone than any of my previous words. I sit next to him, and his eyes seem to flash with a look that I can't quite read.

"Maybe I do, and maybe I don't. You'll never know."

"Unless I 'apologize.'"

"Unless you apologize," he repeats in agreement, winking at me. I don't even try to hide my too-obvious blushing. I nearly turn him down; and instead try to think of a witty response, just to bug him.

But then I'd miss this kiss. I'm motionless for just a moment, but that's all the time he needs to catch me off-guard and press his lips to mine, like he has so many times before.

But I think that it's his hands, as they idly twirl strands of my hair and then move up to brush over the top of my head, causing my scalp to prickle. His hands that rub little circles on my back, that move chastely (for the most part) around my upper body.

His hands are what entice me to be a bit bolder. I part my lips just slightly, and he gets the message. A couple seconds later we break away; just a quick breath, before we meet again, falling back on the bed so we're no longer sitting up. My arms wrap around his torso, and he cups my head in his hands.

Never do I want to let go. The only-slightly-awkward fumble of our tongues makes me smile.

My lips move away from his mouth, only to kiss up his jawline, and back down again. He shifts so that he's able to kiss the side of my neck, and it's insanely...good.

That's the only way to describe it. Good. His hands slip under my shirt and feel all over my back and my waist and my stomach. My breath quickens. His lips make their way to my collarbone, and my hands move up to tangle in his hair.

Good.

I can hear Austin sigh contentedly, and I smile, pressing my body against his. Eliminating all thought of space between us.

And then there's a knock at the door, of course there's a knock at the door. I sigh now, but not because I'm satisfied. I should've put up a sign that said not to enter. Too busy...doing things.

We've barely sat up when Raleigh bursts in, her hands full of file folders and papers and everything having to do with organization and work. It's very unlike her.

"Sorry to interrupt," she says, taking in my flustered face and smirking. "I'm sure whatever you were doing was...important, but dad just called and said you should've taken over for your shift at the store twenty minutes ago." My eyes widen.

"Damn," I murmur under my breath, standing up and grabbing my coat. Raleigh turns and leaves, dropping a couple of papers in the process. I can't imagine what they're for.
