" come on girl we gone be late to work" Nene yelled waking me up

"Uhhhhh Nene " I groaned pulling my pink plush covers over my head

" Okay damn" i mumbled and rolled out of bed and rubbed my itchy eyes as i went to my private in room bathroom

Nene is my best friend and room mate. Our parents were really close and actually all lived under the same roof . The dynamic of our house hold was two dad's and two mom's. Our parents were all raised together and wanted the same for us and had this wild idea to live together which we both loved but one day my aunt came and told us one day when they was supposed to be out running errands together and they were in the wrong place at the wrong time and ...well yeah got killed. Our parents put some funds to the side for us that we used to get our own apartment at 17yrs old with the help from my aunt that we stayed with for an year

As I stepped out the shower i looked at myself in the mirror and mentally reminded myself to lose weight and rolled my eyes at the thought of me gaining any more.

As I got dressed in my khakis and blue shirt for work Nene busts in my room saying "Sis sis sis " In an crazy amount of excitement already fully dressed and ready to go

" Yes " I asked laughing at her excitement I love when she gets giddy it reminds me of when we were little she was such an happy kid but it all kind of faded away as time went on after our parents passed

" R.Kelly fineeee ass coming to our cityyy" She sang while shoving her red iPhone into my face to show me a poster of him without a shirt on stating his concert date and ticket sale dates

I rolled my eyes this man doesn't even know she exist and she doing all this i thought to myself

" Whatever Nene im trying to get done with getting ready and you in my face about someone i clearly don't care for." i spat at her while walking into the kitchen to warm me up a breakfast sandwich.

"come on Kaylee you cant tell me you not excited " Nene said cheesing sitting at the black kitchen table we decided to spend 2,000 on because we work at a furniture store and got 50% off

I looked her dead in her cute little brown face and said " I'm not excited " and rolled my eyes

" Your probably right but for right now i really don't care i said as i pulled my breakfast sandwich out of the microwave and grabbing a paper towel. " You know its allegations about him from way waay back in the day right ?" i asked her as we walked to our blue 2010 Nissan ." Yeah well it if was real he would've been in jail " she argued and I didn't care to respond we can get into pretty lengthy debates sometimes. As we clocked in and put on our store headsets on I was called to the back with the managers "Good morning Kaylee we need you to be the stand in general manager for a couple of weeks we want to see how you do " Larry said who is the current general manager.

WHAT acting general manager what does that even mean i asked myself as my mind flurried with thoughts and emotions . I don't want to be in this boring ass place as it is let alone be acting fucking general manager. Before I let the emotions take over me i took a breather and regained my ability to talk " Uh..uh" I managed to utter as I laughed nervously " What do you mean ? Where are you going Larry?" I asked him its started to get hot in this navy blue polo shirt

"Actually Im being investigated for somethings and i feel like you would be a good fit to replace me in the mean time.. i would be hurt if you didn't accept this opportunity from me Kay your the only one i trust " He told me while grabbing my hand pleading I rolled my eyes giving in but my stomach is turning while accepting this out of the blue opportunity not right now Intuition we got bills to pay and this position gives me time to more comfort do so.
