FIND ME PART 1

*Selena’s POV*

“Scarlett hurry up, we need to go.” I rushed her. It was a school day so I needed to drop her off at school, drop Mason off with my dad who had now moved to LA to help me out, and I needed to go to work.

“I don’t wanna go,” she whined. Scarlett had been complaining about school the past few weeks but I doubted it was anything serious.

“Scarlett you need to go.” I sighed. “We’ll talk about this later.” She rolled her eyes and grabbed her backpack, going into the car and crossing her arms across her chest.

“Why can’t I stay with grandpa like Mason?” She complained.

“Scarlett, I’m really not up for this right now. You’re going to school and that’s final.” I said sternly.

“Why can’t I live with daddy?” She muttered and I pretended not to hear it.

I dropped her off and went to my dad’s house to drop Mason off. “Hey dad,” I have him a hug and handed him Mason and all his things. “Bye little buddy, I’ll see you later.” I gave him a kiss.

“Bye mommy.” He giggled and waved as I got into my car and drove off.

This is what I did everyday, this was my new life. This isn’t what I wanted but it’s what I needed to do. I just wish I could go back to when Scarlett was a little baby and even though things weren’t perfect, they were way better than they are now.

It was noon when I got a call from Scarlett’s school saying that she didn’t feel well. I rolled my eyes knowing that I couldn’t pick her up because of work so I called Justin.

“Hello?” He answered.

“Hey Scarlett’s school called, she’s not feeling well. Is there any way you could go pick her up?” I asked.

“Yeah sure.” He replied.

“Ok thanks, bye.” I hung up and got back to work. Our phone calls were short these days and I still missed the ‘I love yous’ at the end of each call.

I got off of work and went to go pick up Mason before going to Justin’s house to pick up Scarlett.

“Hey baby girl.” I smiled and went to go hug her but she pushed me away.

“I wanna stay with daddy.” She said with an attitude.

“Ok well you’re with daddy this weekend.” I faked a smile. I hated how unhappy Scarlett had been because of this whole divorce thing.

“Whatever.” She rolled her eyes. “Can you take me to the dance studio then?” She asked.

“I thought you didn’t feel good.”

“Well I feel fine now.” She replied.

“Scarlett, don’t talk to your mom like that. I’ll see you this weekend. I love you.” The did their own little handshake and Scarlett got into the car, not saying one word the whole way home.

We got home and I carried a sleeping Mason inside and laid him him down in his room before starting to see what I could make for dinner. “Scarlett, is there anything you would like for dinner?” I asked.

“I don’t care.” She replied.

I rolled my eyes and just took out some leftovers and heated them up and put a plate in front of Scarlett.

“We ate this yesterday.” She complained.

“Well you said you didn’t care so this is what we’re having.” I stated simply.
