if you have never tried charcoal, go out and buy a stick or two! it's messy, but super fun. crush the stick to get nice powder to spread around...

Conte drawing! Conte is made in sticks like charcoal, but is made out of material that is a lot like the stuff in bricks. It's really stiff and hard to make into a powder. It comes in various shades of red to orange usually, but there are other colors as well. I personally don't like it, it's a little to rough and stiff to draw with.
