The next day, Adrien returned to the bakery, with a purple bruise on his head. His photoshoot was cancelled, to his pleasure, because of the bruise.
"You got guts coming back here." He heard from behind him. He smiled sheepishly and faced Tom.
"Hi, Mr Ch-"
"Save it!" Tom said and walked away. Adrien scratched his head, wondering why Marinette's dad was so sassy.
"Hello, dear. What brings you back?" Sabine asked from behind the counter. She smiled at him warmly which he returned.
"Just hungry, I had a light breakfast." He said. Sabine smiled and gave him croissants and cookies. "Thanks! You guys make the best!" He grinned and sat down, eating his food.
"Oh, Marinette! Adrien's here!" He heard Sabine say.
He heard a squeal, followed by pots and pans clanging and a thud. He chuckled. 'Same ol' Marinette.'
"A-Adrien!" He turned and saw the red faced bluenette. He smiled at her and returned to his cookies.
"U-um, sorry about my dad. He-"
"S'okay!" Adrien assured. "I'm okay." Marinette sighed in relief and sat in front of him.
"Don't you have a photoshoot today?" She asked. Adrien nodded. "Yeah, but it was cancelled." He pointed to his bruise. Marinette muttered a small apology.
"It's okay! Wait, how'd you know I have a photoshoot today?" He asked her, looking at her suspiciously.
Marinette sweatdropped. "U-uh!! J-just a-a h-h-hunch!" She squeaked.
Adrien laughed. "Gee, Mari! I know you stalk me!" Marinette blushed.
"Alya told you, didn't she!" She muttered. Adrien gave a teasing shrug. "Maybe?"
She rolled her eyes while the boy laughed. Her gaze stopped on a tiny crumb that was stuck on the side of his lips. "Adrien," she said. Adrien stopped laughing and looked at her, a smile still stuck on his lips.
"Yes?"
"Come closer." She motionwd him to lean forward with her finger. Adrien smirked and leaned in. "Just a bit more." She said. Adrien did as he was told.
"More closer."
Their faces were inches away from each other. Marinette felt his warm breathe, blow against her face.
"And," Adrien urged.
Marinette brought her hands to his lips, flicked the crumb away and shoved his face away from hers.
"There, now you look fine." She smiled at the pouting boy.
"But I always look fine!" He whined. "And it's not nice to tease people, Mari!" He cried. Marinette laughed and left the sulking boy in his seat.
"Mari!"
"Okay, okay!" She giggled and blew him a kiss which he caught and slapped onto his lips. Grinning, he walked out of the bakery with the rest of his cookies.
"My daughter is such a tease!" Tom exclaimed. Marinette blushed. "You guys saw?!"
Sabine nodded. "Everything."
