TWENTY

I smelled bacon. That alone made me jump out of bed and run toward the kitchen, not caring what the hell I looked like. After all, I still had two days of Thanksgiving break left, so I wasn't about to dress up for anything until I had to.

"Good morning," Aunt Julie said in a chipper mood. I grumbled back a response that nobody understood while taking a seat at the table.

"Was that even English?" I looked up and immediately saw Tristan grinning across the table. I mentally groaned; he was the last person I wanted to see after our date a couple nights ago.

I shrugged, not giving him any verbal response because I'd much rather shove my face with food than talk to him at the moment. Thank goodness Logan and Morgan started talking to him, taking his attention off of me.

Alright, so I'm sure he didn't know I enjoyed the kiss, mainly because I was having a hard time wrapping my own mind around it. Then again, that's all I thought about when thinking of Tristan; the stupid kiss. It wasn't that I liked him or anything (that much I was sure of). It was just that I started feeling...attracted to him. Yeah, you can be attracted to someone and not like them.

But in all seriousness, as much as I wanted to deny it, that kiss between us was probably one of the best kisses I've ever had. Even counting the times I've kissed past boyfriends and crushes. And that was one thing I couldn't understand because here I am, thinking about how great that short (practically forced) kiss was, when I don't even like the guy. What the hell is wrong with me?

"...right Lexy?" Logan suddenly said, interrupting my destructive thoughts.

My attention snapped to him as I nodded. "Yeah, sure," I replied without knowing what he was talking about. I usually got away with just agreeing with my cousin when I wasn't paying attention.

"Great, so I'll pick you up at six," Tristan smirked.

My eyes widened with confusion and surprise. "Wait, what?!"

My cousins and Tristan laughed. "It's a joke, Lex. You weren't paying attention to us at all," Logan explained.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm still not fully awake."

"We can tell by your appearance," Tristan said, still with that damn smirk. I narrowed my eyes at him. Trying to think of a response was too much effort this early in the morning.

"It's not even that early, Lexy. It's almost eleven," Morgan interjected. I stared at her blankly. Well, perhaps I was wrong about the time, but that didn't take away from the fact I was tired as hell. Therefore, I ate in silence, listening to my cousins talk with Tristan. It'd take a little while before I was awake.

Later that afternoon, I finally chose to get off my lazy ass. I basically did nothing after breakfast but lay on my bed, thinking about miscellaneous things. Morgan asked to borrow my car since hers was in the shop for some unknown reason to me. That left me with Logan and Tristan, which was better than staying alone in my room all day.

"Oh, you're here," I stated dully, looking at Flemmy. She was leaning against the kitchen counter in a short pink dress. Apparently looking like a whore was more important than dressing for the chilly weather outside.

"Yeah, I am. Do you have a problem with that?" she asked, until she continued, "I didn't think so. By the way, you better stay away from me. I don't want to have to insult your family again."

I glared at her, making her fake smile falter slightly. "Well I wouldn't want to punch you again-actually, I do, so just stay far away from me."

She rolled her eyes. "Whatever, you barely did anything to me. Besides, Logan was there to fix me up, unlike for you who has nobody. Unless you're pathetic little plan is working, which I highly doubt." Take a deep breath, Lexy. You don't want to do something you'll regret later...
