3 in the morning, the door starts shaking. He kept thinking, "well, here we go again". He thought it was her. Her again. Has if he hasn't had enough of all the lies, and the excuses that she makes, just to make it seem, in her own little fantasy world, that they were okay.
They had been together for years. It wasn't easy for him to let her go, but what could he do? You can't be with someone that constantly makes you feel like you aren't worth it, and like you aren't even there when they have something better to do. To him, she was a nightmare. She would complain about him being away, but would send him away as soon as he got back. She wouldn't listen to anything he said, but still wanted to be heard. Oh, yeah. God forbid that he didn't listen, not for one second. She would snap out of anger and in the end burst into tears. He just didn't know how she became that way, she was so sweet, sociable, caring, and fun. Over night, she just became the most toxic person, and didn't show any signs of getting better again. He had no choice but to leave.
The only problem was, he still loved her so much. He loved her like the first time he ever saw her, sittin in the garden in front of her house, just at 14 years old. She looked so peaceful, contemplating all of the trees, which she, for some strange reason, just loved. He was so grateful everyday for having met her, and just for having the chance to have her in her life, but it just started to make him wonder how such an angel could turn into such a mean, toxic, demon.
He just couldn't shake that feeling of guilt he had, for not helping her. He knew she wasn't okay, and, deep down, she knew that too. She just didn't know how to help herself anymore, and when she most needed him, he left her. How can that help? Is what she kept asking to herself, although too weak to ask that to him.
