You gotta get out there and find your true love, you need to marry a beautiful and strong and smart girl, your wife will be so pretty and lucky Emil!
That's what they all said, they said I would find a beautiful girlfriend, that the woman who married me would be oh so lucky. I always smiled and nodded shrugging it off, but I was unable to shrug of the continuous nagging in the back of my head saying that they were wrong. The people who told me that were wrong and I was right to think I wouldn't find a girl, it wasn't what I wanted, I wanted to be with another boy. Sure that sounds wrong, call me queer, call me wrong, tell me it's just a phase. I don't listen I never will, and with time the voice gets louder, it's no longer a whisper it's a yell always reminding me that those people are wrong.
My family was unlike a lot of others, my parents left me with my brother and well I guess I kinda followed in his footsteps, going to the same highschool and having the same taste in people, witch is not very good because we both hate people. He has around 5 friends max and two of witch he doesn't even talk to outside of school. Ok that note the three friends he hangs out with are the same people I do, he is dating one of them but denies it every single time I try and talk to him about it. Ever since I was little I would mimic him, he was stoic, so was I, he had shitty social skills, well guess what, I do to.
Monday October 30th
"How many more posters for the dance?!"
I called down the hall waiting for the response, a hand tapped my shoulder making me jump, whipping around I came face to face with Mathias, grinning like an idiot.
"Boo! And here ya go these are the last of em, thanks for helping me hang these up!"
I rolled my eyes taking them and starting off down the hall.
"Whatever, I don't get why you can't do this yourself."
I muttered.
"It's cause the teachers don't trust me with the stapler anymore!"
He called out after me as I rounded the corner making a tsking sound at him and continuing on with the biting job of hanging fliers.
"I don't get why I'm going to this dance, oh right I need to be the god dammed adult supervision because Mathias is a dope."
I hissed to myself before nearly falling down as a large thing hit me from the side.
Here we go
I thought before something, possible the same thing that hit me grabbed my arm and stopped my fall.
"Oh I'm like, sorry I didn't see you there, I did here you but just.. yeah sorry these are yours, but I think il hold onto them because I want you to chase after me."
I blinked, making the person who was talking come into vision before blinking again.
"What no don't you dare."
I responded quickly getting my balance back and snatching the papers.
"Alright it was like, worth a shot, I'm Leon, but you can like call me anytime."
He said with a flirtatious wink that didn't seem to reach any of his other facial features.
"What."
I deadpanned shaking my head.
"Did you just- I don't even. What, I'm Emil, I guess."
"Email? And you guess?"
He said after me tilting his head.
"No Emil, and shut up."
I snapped quickly.
"Make me."
He said smoothly resting a hand on his hip.
"Listen here Leon, I don't know why your flirting with me-"
"Cause I wanna."
"Shut it, but I have other things to be doing."
I said and went to turn around.
"Ah yes, because babysitting is like so much more fun than talking to me."
I gave him a sideways look and stared for a minute.
Is this kid for real, what is he even doing. I'm a guy can't he tell
"You know I'm a boy right."
He gave me a spooked look making me a bit nervous.
"Wait whatttt, no I like totally can tell your a dude, why do you say?"
"Because your flirting with me and that's not usually something boys do to other boys."
He shrugged at my statement and I blinked again.
"So there's like no problem with that."
He said shrugging once more and looking at the posters.
"I'm going to give you an escape rout for the party, do you want to hang out with me or babysit?"
He said after a minute and looked back up to meet my eyes, his brown ones mixing with my violet ones. I looked down the hall and sighed as I heard a crash and Mathias scream.
"I'll take your offer."
I said and looked back up at him.
"Then il see you tomorrow, until then Emil."
He said with another wink before walking back down the hall.
"Oh god this isn't good..."
I muttered looking down at the flashy October dance fliers.
"But at least I found what I'm looking for."
