Five | Just Friends

A/N: I'm writing on my phone so if there are grammar, punctuation, or spelling errors i'm truly sorry!

           I woke up with a throbbing headache, knowing I'd get a big fat 'I told you so' from Marco. I looked over to my bedside table seeing  advil and water making me smile. There was a little note attached from Marco.

           Practice ends at 2 pm today but i'll bring home some food for you. Love you stupid- M

         I smiled even wider after reading the note, gladly taking the water and advil. It was still only one so I decided to kill time by scrolling through my phone. I saw I had an unread DM so I went to check.

Ola ! I'm Andre and I remember you coming by to Rui's practice with the team. I'd love to meet you sometime!  - andresilva9

     Hi, Ola! I didn't expect this but yes I'd love to. I'm planning on going to Portugal soon if you'll be there. - lunapat7

     I smiled at my phone turning red because of the DM and put it down when the door opened.

     'Luna, the little baby that never listens!' Isco smiled entering in front of Marco, who was holding bags of takeout. I smiled running up to them and giving them hugs. Isco was always over it was like he practically lived here, but ever since he had his kid it was more rare.
'I've missed you Isco!' I said hugging him tighter.
'Love you too Luna.' Marco huffed laying the food out for the three of us to choose from. I stuck my tongue out at him and we sat down to eat.
'So guess who DMed me.' I said stuffing my face.
'Hm hard to think of a name considering Cris told us what you said last night.' Marco smirked and my heart started to race. Cris wouldn't tell Marco that I had feelings would he?
'What?' I said abruptly.
'About Andre, you asked him to set you up.' Isco clarified and I laughed awkwardly.
'Yes actually he did.' I smiled and Marco just gave a dry smile back.
'What'd he say?' Isco chimed in.
'He wanted to meet.' I smiled and Marco walked upstairs abruptly. He was being weird about Andre and it didn't make sense because he never said anything. Isco rolled his eyes and I was still confused.
'I'm going to talk to him.' I said getting up.
'Don't do anything stupid.' Isco said pulling out his phone to keep busy.
'I won't?' I said heading up to see Marco was lying on his bed looking up. I joined him looking up at the white wall. I had woken up numerous times in this bed because I couldn't sleep. He would always take the floor and I would look up and wonder what could've been if he stayed.
'What's wrong?' I asked nudging him and he just sighed.
'It's stupid Luna okay?' He said brushing me off and turning on his side to face me and I did the same.
'Tell me.' I said smiling and he just smiled back letting the anger fade from his face.
     'Well, I just thought when the time was right it'd be us you know ? More than best friends but I can't rush my feelings and you have your heart set.' He said sighing and I felt my heart break. I always thought the same but my heart wasn't set. I had feelings for Marco, and I would tell him but I couldn't do that.
     'I get it. I always thought too but we make a great best friend duo and if you don't feel that way towards me then we can't force it.' I smiled feeling tears brim my eyes and he brushed the hair out of my face. It was all too soon when he leaned in I kissed back but only for a second before pulling away. I got up and walked back downstairs because it was crazy. Marco doesn't like me he just thinks that because we're so close we're meant to be. We aren't and it's for the best. I stopped in front of Isco and he knew something was wrong.
       'I have money saved to visit my brother, i'm leaving tomorrow.' I said and he stopped me.
     'Luna please, just relax okay. Whatever happened, happened and i'm sure you guys will figure it out.'
     'I need time Isco.' I said walking back to my room with my food. He followed me but went into Marcos room instead. I bought my tickets to Portugal and was planning on leaving in the morning while Marco was at practice. I wasn't just leaving because of Marco but because I missed Rui and I knew he could help.
    'Hey I don't know if you're awake but I wanted to say sorry and that I love you.' Marco said before heading to bed as well. I heard Isco leave later and I decided to pack and speak to Marco properly. I was leaning on his door frame waiting for him to look up from his phone.
      'Hey I'm going to Portugal tomorrow with some money I saved up. I need to see Rui and everyone.' I smiled and he smiled back nodding.
      'I get it, I wish I could go but I have practice and games. I just hope you have a good time. I'll drive you to the airport.' He smiled and I smiled back. I was excited to head out on my own and get some space. I was going to miss Marco, but maybe i'd meet someone new.
