'Don't forget to call me when you land and when you get to Rui's. Also, don't do anything stupid please, i've already told everyone you're my best friend.' Marco was speaking quickly before I went through security.
'You're such a loser, I love you.' I said smiling giving him a hug and he hugged me tighter.
'I will see you in a month because school starts again in two months so be back.' He scolded and I just giggled at his protectiveness.
'Alright dad.' I laughed and he shoved me a little rolling his eyes.
'Anyways, have fun love you!' He waved as I walked to security with just a few tears threatening to spill. I wish he had told me sooner how he felt because my emotions were all over the place after that kiss. The whole flight I was remembering all the embarrassing photos I have of him and videos of him laughing at stupid things and my heart was aching. I decided to sleep through most of the flight because I was just making myself more sad.
'Miss, chegamos.' The flight attendant spoke and I smiled at her as I proceeded out. I decided to surprise Rui because I knew he'd be excited. I shot a quick text to Marco as I hailed a cab and gave the driver the address. It was summer once again and school wasn't for another two months but I was only here for one. I smelt the fresh air of the country I loved so quickly and felt so connected with. Once we pulled up I rang the doorbell once before Vera, Rui's girlfriend answered the door. She smiled so big and I told her to shush and she complied. I slowly walked into the living room where Rui was dozing off watching some soccer game, given it was already almost ten at night.
'Boo!' I shouted and he jumped up ready to fight but rubbing his eyes when he registered it was me.
'IRMÃ!' He shouted pulling me in for a hug then getting yelled at by Vera because João was already sleeping.
'I'm sorry I didn't give you a heads up I just wanted to surprise you guys.' I smiled and he shook his head rapidly.
'It is no problem! The guest room is always open for you. How long will you be staying?' He smiled and Vera joined our circle.
'A month.' I smiled nervously and they cheered but in a whisper.
'This is exciting! You can come to my international practices and a game in Russia maybe?' He smiled hesitantly and then I remembered. June into July, that means World Cup was starting soon. I smiled so big because I loved soccer so much and being present for such a big tournament made my heart so happy. Once we spoke a little and they gave me something to eat I head to my room exhausted. I plopped on the bed after getting ready when my phone started to buzz. I groaned picking it up to see it was Marco FaceTiming me.
'Ola! Just wanted to check in. You look like hell.' He smiled laughing, making me roll my eyes.
'Wow thanks loser. I'm just tired, i'm never doing a late flight again!' I said exhausted and he just chuckled.
'Alright i'm going to let you sleep princesa, goodnight sleep tight.' He winked hanging up making my heart ache more. So cute but I knew it wasn't meant to be, at least not now.
Next Day
I rolled over to shut my alarm off before rubbing my eyes as the sun poured in through the window blinds. I heard a little voice saying random Portuguese words before I registered I was actually here, in Portugal, with my brother again. I smiled as I quickly got dressed and ready for the day. Rui lived in the heart of Lisboa and the busy streets and shops were practically calling my name.
'Bom dia.' I smiled at them and rubbed João's head making him giggle.
'Bom dia, Rui is at practice and will be home in about two hours. He didn't want to wake you on the first day.' Vera said while feeding the little boy his breakfast. João was already two so he was eating bacon and waffles with milk, not that it matters but I noticed he was getting big.
'Okay, I'm going to shop a bit ill be home in an hour max.' I said and she laughed at my eagerness to head out into the city.
'Here is some cab fair, don't get lost. Your brother would kill me.' She smiled and I laughed. Once I got to the city I decided to find an outfit to wear on my birthday since I'd be spending it here. It was in a week now and I was counting down the days to being nineteen so Marco could stop picking on me. I walked into Pull&Bear and got a cute outfit that would work perfectly in any birthday scenario. Once I was done with shopping I decided to head home and see Rui. I rang the doorbell and Vera answered it helping me load my stuff inside.
'The boys are downstairs playing Fifa.' She said and I nodded hearing someone scream PORRA from all the way up here. I laughed and walked to meet the guys. I recognized all of them and I felt my heart drop when I saw Andre. Of course I tried to run out of the room before anyone noticed me but Cris turned around and shouted my name.
'LUNA! OLA!' He said wrapping his arms around me in a hug and everyone turned around to look. Everyone said hi even Andre and it was a bit awkward for me since I was literally drooling but I kept my cool.
'Luna, play for me for a second I have to go help Vera with something.' Rui smiled apologetically and handed me the remote. I was clueless when it came to video game soccer, but real soccer I could handle. I was versing Cris, of course what are the chances.
'You're going to lose just like your brother little girl.' He smirked and I rolled my eyes trying to put on a face that would convince people I knew how to play. Surprisingly I won and Rui was just coming down.
'Alright I'm tired so I'm going to go up to my room for a bit.' I smiled throwing the remote at him and half of the guys groaned.
'Mas , we like you more than Rui.' Nani whined making me laugh so hard.
'Malvado.' Rui mumbled making me laugh. I head upstairs and decided to unpack some more when I heard a knock on my door. I looked up and saw Andre making me blush a bit but I kept it cool.
'Um Ola, I just wanted to say welcome home.' He smiled making me smile even wider.
'Thank you, I hope to be seeing a lot of you around.' I said mentally slapping myself for saying it. I turned so red and looked down and he just laughed a bit.
'I hope so too.' He winked and walked away making my stomach do flips. I literally just met him for real why was I being so crazy? I mean he is gorgeous, but still. I decided to take my mind off of it and call Marco.
'So you aren't dead?' He said sarcastically making me roll my eyes.
'Hey! World Cup is coming up and I forgot and I'm sorry that I won't be there to support you.' I said sadly and he just smiled.
'It's okay just wear my jersey at home every match.' He laughed and I felt happy to hear his laugh.
'Alright, I'm going to finish unpacking love you bye!' I smiled.
'Love you too loser.' He said before hanging up. I walked to the kitchen to get water and conveniently Andre was there again.
'Already seeing so much of me right away.' He smirked and I just chuckled.
'I guess so.' I smiled moving past him to get a cup and water.
'So Luna, will you be coming to Russia?' He asked.'One game then I have to head back home to Madrid.' I smiled and he nodded.
'Do you have plans tomorrow night?' He asked and I shook my head no, confused.
'Okay cool, we have practice in the morning but if you're free would you like to get dinner or something?' He smiled and I felt my heart race and beat a thousand times faster.
'That's sounds great actually. I want to get to know this city more.' I said and he turned a bit red.
'I'll DM you my number then?'
'Yes.' I smiled and he walked back downstairs leaving me in the kitchen to smile so hard I couldn't feel my cheeks. This trip would be interesting.
