poem 2; Tree

Her tree, was rotting.

Her insides turning to mush.

She felt the wind brush her branches side to side,

Taking her leaves with it.

Her roots were coming up.

Everything she struggled to hide for so long

Was coming into sight.

She swore she would never let them see

But it was becoming a reality.

She listened to the wind,

As it kissed her on her head

Whispering for her to sleep

Sleep child, for the night will calm you.

She felt the pills calming her,

As she fell into a infinite sleep,

Never to worry about her troubles and strife again.

But little did she know,

We all mourned for her

Tears fell on the ground,

From her loved ones,

And she would never be able to see

How much we had cared for her roots,

How we prepared to heal her rotting inside,

How we loved her so deeply,

That we had watered her

With love and affection and care,

'Till the day she was gone.

Then she woke up.

Tears rushing down her face,

When she realized.

She was lucky,

She was loved,

She was wanted.

She was worth it.

And she realized that she was more than enough.

And she healed her rotting tree

And let her roots come up.

And she finally could see

How happy she could be.

So take a moment,

And look around.

Can you see who's tree is rotting?

Who's falling apart and breaking on the inside?

We overlook these things so often,

We never see, the truth.

We never see, who's falling deeper and deeper.

Until they disappear.

Until they're gone.

So I want you all to do this.

Take a moment, a minute out of your day,

To really press. To really look.

Look inside their head.

When they say yes, I'm okay, but you know,

You know they're lying,

Press more.

Don't look away

Don't let them fool you

That okay, is them crying for help.

They are crying out to you to save them

Before it's too late.

And that's something to think about.

The last question I have for you,

Is look inside yourself.

And really look,

Is your own tree, rotting?
