Christmas Break

He changed.
I saw him with his friends at Starbucks, he seemed happy. Until he saw me standing in a distance. We made eye contact like the first day we met.
He got up and walked towards me,grabbing my hand and interlacing his fingers with mine.
"Leslie"
"Dominik" raising an eyebrow and smiling.
"A sight for sore eyes" he said remaining eye contact as he kissed my hand
"What's this I hear about you making mischief?" Raising my eyebrow with a snarky smile across my face
"What mischief? Oh you mean the drinking,yeah I'm guilty for that" he said nervously
"Uh huh , you better quit doing that you're going to hurt yourself ,Dominik"
"Not more than I already am hurting " he mumbled
"What's that?"
"Nothing "
To my peripheral vision I saw Ryan. The last person I wanted to see while I'm talking to Dominik observing the smile fade from his face as Ryan approached us.
"Leslie what's up I didn't know you were-"
"Yeah well she did, now excuse us she hasn't eaten yet " Dominik stated aggressively rejecting Ryan's presence.
"Dominik ,c'mon" I said tugging his skull hoodie.
We walked to the diner and sat down,ordering our beverages he sat quietly across from me. He stirred his hot tea continuously without taking a single sip. He sat staring off in space proceeding to stir.
"Dominik" I said gently touching his hand. He reverted his attention towards me making eye contact with me. Watching the tension slowly simmer down and a smirk rise upon his face.
"Talk to me."
"About"
"What gets you so bothered about Ryan? Hm?"
After asking him the question he eyed me,began shaking his left leg and clenching his jaw.
"Because I know his intentions aren't pure"
"What do you mean he barely touched me"
"And when he did he didn't know how to simply hold you without bruising your fragile ass" he pointed out before finally taking a sip of his tea
"Who said I was fragile!" I said defensively
"You hit the door coming in , if you taking off your jacket right now you'll see a bruise "
I took off my jacket looking for the bruise. Just where he said it would be. Not surprised to be completely honest he knows me better than anyone. I could be texting him and he'd know if I'm bullshitting him.
Finally,we finished our meal,laying on our jackets at the park intertwined with each other like two vines. Laughing more than I have ever laughed in the past few weeks. Grasping my face, grazing my face with his thumb watching my grey eyes meet his green eyes. He took me back to the place where I was staying for Christmas break.
"Leslie?"
"Yeah"
"I've been meaning to tell you something "
"What is it"
"Nevermind."
"No Dominik tell me"
"You sure"
"Yes"
"I'm uh.."
"You're?"
"I'm uh.. in ...uh ..fuck this I can't say never mind " he said frustratedly walking away from me
"Were you gonna say that you're in love with me?" I asked sitting on the curb side next to him
He didn't say a word he pulled me closer and kissed my forehead , smiling. Dominik and I are like a two chemicals that you're not supposed to put together but when you do something beautiful happens. While gazing in his eyes I couldn't help but hear a familiar truck pull up towards us. Dominik got up in a protective manner and stood in front of me. It came to my attention Ryan had followed us here.
"Ryan you need to fucking leave now"
"Free country ,I do what I wish" Ryan said in a smart Alec tone,I look at Dominik watching the hell  rise within his eye
"I'm not asking Ryan ,I'm telling you don't know what he's capable of,I don't. He obviously doesn't want you around ,you need to leave."
"I'd like to see him do something to me I dare him" Ryan said pushing me out of the way and gets in Dominik's face , quickly as I could I weasel in between the two and attempt to calm Dominik down.
"Dominik,breathe,hey look at me ,he's not worth it " I repeatedly said hold his face in my hands,feeling his jaw clutched together loosening the more I spoke to him.
I brushed the hair away from his eyes,making eye contact as he breathed heavily. Ryan drove off. Dominik pulled me towards him by my waist holding me and kissing the top of my head. Reader, Dominik is his own creature majestic and unique in all his beauty but the minute you upset him you better make sure I am around, I've seen things that man can do and I pity the soul who tries to  fight him. I'm not saying he's a aggressive but he doesn't put up with bullshit (except for mine of course). He's always been one to be selfish with my company and that's okay! I wouldn't have it any other way. 
Dominik nuzzled his head in my chest as I calmed him down. 
"My broken baby what will I ever do with you"
"Love me. I don't know fix me."
"You have to do that to yourself first you know that"
He chuckled and kissed me.
Grasping my jawline in his hand.
"I've never loved you like any other, That is to say,
I've never loved anyone like I love you. As far away as you are now...From me and what we were and what we're becoming ,You still hold my heart in your hand.As though it contains the secrets you wondered about. Since you were a child-

"Dominik don't say that you know I can't help it."
"I know and I will fix this I promise one way or another I will get you back home . Here in my arms"
"Where I belong "
"Your safe place " he said softly kissing my head
