Counting Down The Days

chapter 4

he walks me to the car and open my door for me and then walks around it to his side. before he starts the engine he twists his body around the seat and grabs a bouquet of flowers.
"you are the most beautiful girl i have ever seen." he tells me while handing me the roses.
"you didn't have to." i say shyly.
"i wanted to." we get to the restaurant and are seated at a booth. we order and while we wait for the waiter to come out with our food jonah asks me, "so Erin said something about cancer? is everything okay? is that what you meant when you told me i didn't know what i was getting into and doing?"
"yes. i meant that. a few weeks ago it was official and the doctors only expect a year left out of me. ever since then ive been a mess."
"ill be with you through thick and thin. you seem wonderful, Kylie." Jonah says. I look down and smile. A boy has never treated me this way. I mean I've had a few boyfriends, but none as sweet as Jonah. After we finish eating and the bill comes I pull out my wallet and Jonah says,
"Don't worry about it. It's on me."
"Thank you." I tell him with a shy smile on my face. He takes me home and he goes back to his house. I get a text from Erin the second I lay down on my bed. I swear, it's like she has a secret video cam recording every move I make.
Erin: sooo, how was dating one of the hottest boys ever?
Me: he's really sweet. im glad i went
Erin: do you think there will be a second date?
Me: hopefully, but i don't want to get too excited in case he didn't like it.

(Jonah's pov)
I walk in the door and all the boys are staring at me.
"What?" I ask.
"How was it?" They ask.
"It was fine." I shrug, hoping that would get them off my back. I walk into my bedroom and Corbyn follows.
"It wasn't just fine, I know it." He says.
"She's beautiful, Corb. Everything about her is amazing. I think I may be falling in love with her. Her smile is perfect, her hair is gorgeous, and her eyes may even look better than Daniels." We both laugh.
"Whats her name?" Corbyn asks.
"Kylie." After that we both climb into our beds and fall asleep. Before that though, I text Kylie once more.

(Kylie's pov)
As I put my phone down a get another text. Thinking its just Erin I leave it there and fall asleep.
