Cold Water

The moment I closed the door he asked me:
- Hey, (Y/N), can you skateboard?
- Well, a friend of mine from Brazil was trying to teach me before I moved here, so I guess I sorta can...
- Well, okay, let's go, shortie!
- Are you seriously going to call me that too?
- Til I find my own nickname for you, yeeees!
- Great... - I said rolling my eyes. The nickname was cute and all but I already knew I'm short, don't need to emphasize that... I had no time to finish complaining inside my head because Austin showed up with a skateboard on his hand.
- So I thought on the way over here that we could skateboard to the place I want us to go, I even borrowed B's skateboard. - He showed me a second skateboard while saying that - But now I changed my mind, we're are going to share one skateboard so I can teach you.
- Are you out of your mind? No way I'm sharing one skateboard, A!!! It's so likely we'll fall..
- Don't worry, shortie, I'll catch you if you fall.
And with that words, he got me. I nodded a yes to him and stepped on the skateboard, he put his hands around my waist and started to skate. I had no idea where we were going or what were we going to do but I could feel it in my heart it was the start of something new.
After a few minutes we arrived in a kinda forest kinda park place. It was beautiful, surrounded by nature. The way the sun was setting covered by the trees was unbelievably breathtaking. There was a little breeze that made the smell of the flowers travel all the way to my mind. I closed my eyes so I could feel all the nature around me, when he took me by the hand and started guiding me somewhere. After a three minute walk, we arrived at a place that would make you all melt. There was a little river in between rocks where the water was running slowly, the plants grew in a way that caused shadows in the right places and let the sunlight in when needed. On the top of the rock near the river there was a picnic towel with an open basket on it. Austin didn't say a word, he just let me admire the perfection of that place for a while. Knowing me, I had to break the perfect scenario with some question out of context:
- So how the hell did you left this basket with all the food here? What if someone stole it?
- It wouldn't happen, no one comes here, it is my other secret place - He said while sitting on the picnic towel. I sat right next to him and reached for the basket, opening it and searching fot something to eat. He stared at me while I was doing it and smiled when saw my reaction to the things I pulled out of the basket.
He bought all my favorites!
- Omg! You got all the things I love! How did you knew all of this?
- Brandon may have helped me...
- Ah, I'm so happy! - I said while jumping in his arms, starting a hug. I realized how weird that was so I let go quickly returning to my inicial position.
We stayed on the ground for a while talking about the most random things. After a few minutes he plugged his phone in a little speaker and we started to sing a long to the songs and when location came on he stood up and grabbed my hand making me stand too. He spun me and pulled me close, holding me by my waist. So, yeah, I guess we were slow dancing to a rap song and it didn't even felt weird. When the second part of the song came on he held my face with one hand and started singing to me

"I don't wanna fall in love off of subtweets, so

I got a lot of cool spots that we can go

By the time the song was over I couldn't help but smile. I guess I was a little caught up in the moment cause I grabbed his hand and lead him closer to the river and took off my shoes, while saying:
- Let's jump!
- Are you crazy? The water must be so cold, shortie!
- Oh come on, A, it is just some cold water, you are not afraid, are you?
- Not afraid, just with my head on it's place!
- Okay, then, if you're not jumping, I still am.
- what?
I took a few steps back so I could ran to the edge of the rock before jumping. The second I started running I felt the weight of his hand on top of mine and then felt the water soaking my clothes and thoughts. Turns out Austin was right, the water was way too cold and I was crazy as hell for wanting to jump, but it was still awesome. And he obviously wouldn't loose the chance to mess with me about this:
- Better now that we are all wet and cold, shortie?
- Shut up, Austin, it is amazing here.
I couldn't handle being away from him any longer, so I got closer to him, put my hands on the back of his neck and stared at him. When he stared me back, I gently put my lips on his. Nothing had changed. I could still see fireworks, I could still feel butterflies in my stomach and I could still taste a mix of flavors without knowing which one was my favorite. After a few minutes we split our lips, but not our bodies. We glued our foreheads while trying to catch our breath. Austin's phone was still playing and at that perfect moment "Cold Water" by Justin Bieber and MØ started playing:

We stayed in the water a little longer but when the day turned into night, it got way colder and we left the water, otherwise we would never get dry. We decided to make our way to the house when it was about 9pm, after all, Austin still had to teach me how to skateboard.
When we were getting close to my house Austin stopped the skate and stepped out of it, I guess he saw my panic face because he grabbed my hand in the minute his feet touched the floor.
- Don't worry, shortie, I'm here. Come on, show me what you can do. - He said without letting go of my hand.
I was feeling really shy in front of Austin in that moment. He was great at skateboarding and I could barely stand up in that damn thing. He probably notice I was nervous because he did not let my hand go until I felt safe, he kept on saying sweet and encouraging thing to my ear and when I fell for the first time he got all worried about me, but the minute he saw I was laughing he joined me on the ground and laughed too. He taught me for a whole hour and we stopped just when I was getting it right because we were way too tired to keep going. He stole a last kiss from me and made his way to his house.
