The Christmas of 2013, we met the Al Ghul sisters—Meg, Arty, Kate and Sara—and followed them on their journey of growing up.  While their grandfather served the Light from far, far away, their mother, Talia Al Ghul, or Marmee, as she was affectionately called, was left to raise the her daughters on her own, and with little money.

The year had held many surprises.  The first was meeting Laurie, the boy from next door.  The girls all enjoyed his company, and soon enough, they and Marmee thought of him as a member of the family.  His grandfather was even brought out of his hard shell by angelic Kate, whom Mr. Laurence grew to love as if she were his own child.

The girls experienced changes in themselves.  Meg grew out of her longing to fit in with her wealthy friends and came to appreciate the simple blessings she had.  Arty worked on controlling her short, fiery temper, and Sara learned to be less selfish.

But perhaps the biggest challenge that faced the family was when Kate grew ill with crimson fever, a contagious and fatal disease that very nearly killed her.  Her survival of the virus was made even better when Ra's finally returned from his defeat at the hands of the Justice League.  With their family reunited, Arty was sure that all their worries were over.

But her happiness was soon cut short by her older sister Meg realizing that she still loved Conner Kent.  Now its three years later, and Meg and Conner will soon be married.  Everyone is excited, except for Arty.  Will this be the end of the Al Ghul sisters's adventures?  Will Arty learn to accept Conner as her brother-in-law?

One thing is for sure—the girls' path to womanhood has not ended yet!
