Now its time to run

As I was walking, I noticed that there was a tall skinny figure standing in the dark ally. It was just standing there and it was looking at me. At that moment, fear seized my body and I threw my cigarette butt on the ground and I picked up the pace. I acted as if nothing had happened until I heard the crunching of gravel from the other side of the road. In the corner of my eye, I could see that same tall man walking a few paces behind me. I stopped walking and so did he. His actions made me very tense and I shook the feeling off and continued walking.
After a few minutes I noticed that the shuffling of gravel had been accompanied by the sound of dragging. You know... the dragging sound you make when you don't pick up your feet while walking. Yeah that sound. I looked to my right and notice that he is walking towards me. He was at least six feet tall and had no build. I started walking backwards facing him, threw my arms up to show I did not want any trouble.

"Look man" I said "Can I help you?".

He stopped at least a good 12 feet away from me and got nothing in response but silence as his long and pale face stared at me with a blank look that gave me goosebumps.
I dropped my arms to my side but still decided to continue walking backwards. After a while, his pace began to quicken. When his pace quickened, so did mine until he began to run. He was sprinting fast. Real fast.
I quickly turn around and began to run on adrenaline. I had never felt this scared in my life. I was running and so was he. It felt as if he were catching up. I did the most dumbest thing. I looked back. He was gone but before I could react, I fell cause I couldn't see where I was going. My phone fell. Along with my pack of cigarettes. I could care less for that pack of cigarettes, I just needed my phone and keys.
I couldn't see my phone and I began to panic until my phone suddenly buzzed and it lit up. I was able to find it then. It was Amanda and she had sent me a text asking if I were okay. I got up and I  looked around to see if that tall and lanky figure was anywhere near me but I cold not see that man anywhere. I then decided to head back to Amanda's place because there was no way in hell I was gonna walk back home after what had just happened. I was still very scared so I began to run the short few I ran back to Amanda's place because I was only a block away from where I was standing at the moment.
