Zach’s POV:

“How was the funeral?” I ask my mom when she stops by my apartment.

“It was sad. His fiancé said some lovely things and she gave him his wedding ring so he could be buried with it.”

“Sad.” I say and it really is.

“She was pretty.” Mom tells me and I look at her.

“Are you trying to set her up or something? She just lost her fiancé!”

“I was just saying she'll be fine. Someone else will see her beauty and she’ll learn how to fall in love again.”

“Poor girl.”

“Now you’re slowly getting it.” Mom says and starts to leave.

“Do you want to have a family night again?” I ask mom and she smiles.

“I’ll talk to your father and brother. We’ll let you know.” Mom tells me and leaves. I don't know what else to do so I decide to take a walk.

"Hey, you, do you want these?" I hear and turn around. Some guy is holding out concert tickets.

"Uhm, what are they?" I ask him.

"Bruce Springsteen tickets. Bought em for my girlfriend until she dumped me."

"When's the show?" I ask him.

"February 10th." 8 months from today.

"Sure! Do I owe you anything?" I ask him and he shakes his head.

"You look like a good guy. And I swear they're legit and not stolen or something." He hands them to me and walks off. This is my lucky day.

"Hey, Cameron, I just got concert tickets to Springsteen. February 10th show."

"That's cool. Who ya gonna take?" He asks me.

"I never thought about that. I guess I could just sell the other one."

"Yeah, you could." He seems distracted.

"Are you okay?" I ask him.

"Yeah."

"Dude, is something wrong?" I ask him.

"No. Anna has a boyfriend." He tells me.

"Good for her."

"Bad for her! It's your brother." He tells me and my jaw drops.

"When did this happen? He never even told me he liked her."

"Apparently just happened a week ago." Cameron tells me.

"Man, I gotta go." I run home and swing the door open.

"Zach, how nice to see you again." Mom smiles.

"Where is my brother?" I ask her and Vic starts to walk downstairs, but turns around when he sees me. "Don't run!" I yell and run after him.

"Calm down, it's only been three dates."

"And you never told me?" I ask him.

"I knew you would act like this! You don't like her or something, do you?" He asks.

"No, I don't. Man, just tell me next time. And don't hurt her."

"So if we do break up, I shouldn't copy you?" He asks.

"Shut up." I tell him.

"But it's true. You haven't always handled it in the best way."

"Too bad! That's between me and them." We're silent and mom walks in.

"No one's dead yet? I heard silence and got worried. Boys, you're brothers and you almost never act like this, so work it out. Vic, be nice. Zach, don't take offense. He's right." Mom says and leaves.

"We cool?" I ask him.

"Yeah." He nods and I head home to hide my tickets in safety.
