the end. that october

I had accepted to go to the school and have been going for a few months or so. I’ve been through almost half of the teachers who can help me and none so far has any success on helping me control my powers. During this time Magik was my teacher and it’s been going good so far. She has been able to help me control my water and air powers but the others, not so much. We’ve been trying and I’ve even stayed up during the night trying to get a grip on my powers but still had no success. I heard someone say something about a halloween party after school on halloween night. I walked home with my bag on and a tired expression on my face. “Dad I’m home!” Suddenly I see Renan in the corner wearing a black suit with red stitching. He also wore a black mask over his head, eyes and nose, leaving only his mouth uncovered. This suit also had padding which he was wearing underneath the suit. And last, has a holster of two wooden sticks on his thigh, ready to fight. “Uhhhhhh you okay there Asshat?” I asked him with a confused look. “Fine and don’t call me that. Anyway, like the new uniform?” I observe his outfit again and start to shake my head. “You look like even more of an Asshat. Who gave that to you?”

“A friend, he recently upgraded his suit.”

Renan ignored my comment and walked over to the refrigerator but I decided to ask him a question. “Where's my dad?” He looked over at me and raises his eyebrow. “You don't know? I thought Xavier’s school would tell you. He's working a job with S.H.I.E.L.D.” I looked at Renan and made a confused look. “With Nick Fury?” Renan opened his mouth to speak but was suddenly startled by the alarm going on in the Avengers tower. I took Renan by the arm and started to drag him to the top to the building. “Hope dad doesn't mind me using the Quinjet.” Renan stopped her in her tracks and crossed his arms. “You can fly the Quinjet?” I turn around but notice the Helicarrier behind Renan with two people landing on top of the landing zone. Colossus in his steel form as always and this teenage girl wearing a black uniform made up of a jacket and pants, with yellow piping and grey detailing. She also wore metal gauntlets on her lower arms. “Jinx Stark?” I stand in front of Renan who seemed to be in a trance but I just ignored it. “Who's asking?” She had her hand out for a handshake and smiled. “Daisy Johnson, also known as Quake, I’m an Inhuman.” I rejected her offer but Renan came and shook her hand. “Ren-. Phantom call me Phantom, very pleased to meet you Ms. Johnson uh I mean Daisy and it's an honor.” Quake smiled and whipped her hair taking a closer look at the man in black. “You know who I am?” Renan kept his eyes on her and smiled even more, thank god he had a mask. “Of course, you attacked the Skrulls during their invasion of Manhattan.” I hit Renan in the back of his head and yell at the top of my lungs. “ASSHAT FOCUS!” Renan stopped and Quake continued to talk business. “Look the Avengers are fighting Loki. Yes, Thor’s adoptive brother and Iron Man is the only one left.

Colossus comes into the chat and catches my attention. “The Summer brothers, Cyclops and Havok are also their helping but Loki seems too strong.” I look at Renan whose mood changed from happiness to seriousness. I looked down and noticed his hand clenched into a fist with green energy flowing around it. Renan breathed slowly and everything went back to normal, I look at Quake and Colossus again and they continued to explain. “We have to get to the Sahara Desert and fast before Halloween ends because our intel says he's trying to open a portal to a place called—.” Renan interrupted Quake’s final word and looked down to the ground. “Purgatory.” Quake arose her eyebrow and out her hands on her hips. “How did you know?” Colossus feels a vibration from his pocket and answer the call. “We're pinned down here, we need assistance some guy has taken out half our guys.” Colossus hung up the call and looked over at everyone. “We need to leave now.” I smile and start to run away from the roof. “Good thing I learned this by Magik.” I jump off the roof and start to levitate in the air. “Meet you guys at the desert. Colossus, Havok, Cyclops, Renan and Quake turn back and go inside the Quinjet and fly all the way to the destination. I land next to the Quinjet and run to see the Iron Man mask broken along with a few parts that have fallen out from his suit. Quake, Colossus, and Renan arrive behind me and I call out to Loki. “HEY! LEAVE MY DAD ALONE!” I can feel my eyes beginning to glow blue and I make water appear and hit Loki to the floor, making him loose grip on his scepter. I run to Tony and I look at Colossus. “I got this Jinx.” As Colossus holds Tony along with the Avengers away, Loki gets back up and looks over at everyone. “You're Tony Stark’s daughter. So we have three Mutants, one Inhuman, and a….” Loki stopped his last word and looked over a Renan. “Who the hell are you supposed to be?” Renan pulls out the wooden sticks from his side and slowly walks over next to me. “I'm the Phantom. After the hell you put me through I had to get out of that place, even though it took me two years. Now the question is, why do you need to work for someone if you're powerful enough to already make the portal? Unless… it has to be this day on Halloween.” Renan turned back to Quake and whispered back at her. “It's a powerful person.” The Inhuman and the two brothers walk closer to Renan and I, practically standing next to each other. Loki smirked and looked over at me. I looked at him with a glare, “You know it’s rude to stare.” I said with an attitude. Loki rolled his eyes as I stood with my arms crossed and my hip out. He got up then grabbed his scepter from under me and looked at me with this smug look on his face. I heard Steve call to me who was struggling to stand and looked over to see him throw his shield to me, I catch it then put it on. I look at Renan with a smirk “Ever been sandboarding before?” I asked. He looked at me confused then realized what I meant. I threw the shield where it was sliding on the sand towards Loki, Renan jumped on it and rode it towards Loki at a fast speed. Loki appeared to the other side and Renan stopped the shield, he turned around and looked over at the others. “Fight?” Cyclops used his optic blast and hit Loki in the chest losing his scepter again. Quake and Havok were running to get the scepter when suddenly a man appears and launches the duo back with his hands. Quake quickly gets up and regains her balance. “Lash?” I bolted for the scepter while Loki was distracted. I grabbed it and headed for the Quinjet, the sand behind me, kicked up more than it should have and launched me in the air. I hit the sand hard and look over to Loki walking his way over to me. Renan took out his wooden sticks and began to hit Loki left and right. He kickflipped Loki and threw one of the wooden sticks at his face.

“You had a bit of training?” I scuffed as Renan as he kept on fighting Loki in front of me. I look over to see the others fighting while Tony extended his arms out and the Mark 43 arrived, building itself on Tony. Steve went to check on Bruce who was knocked out and Thor who seemed to be in a trance. Quake shot a vibration blast and Lash didn't seem to be affected, Havok and Cyclops aimed at Lash and yelled in unison. “Fire!” The brothers shot their energy together and Lash went flying in the air, Quake decided to use her powers and boost up in the air, until Loki caught her leg, slamming her into the sand. Loki then grabbed Renan by his neck and began to choke him. He dropped his wooden sticks on the sand. “Impressive Renan. Renan Verasx! You know, Purgatory was such a great place, you'll be going with the Avengers this time. Do you remember the way out?” Renan punched Loki in the face but Loki shrugged it off, chuckling at him. “How can you see in that thing?” Loki took off Renan's mask. “I was trained by the best.” Renan head butted Loki and hit the floor when Quake hit him with a blast from her hands. Lash grabbed Loki and hit me in the face, causing me to go flying inside the Quinjet and in the process letting go of the scepter. Lash gave the scepter to Loki and Tony began to hover with his suit. “Stand down Loki, final warning.” Loki aimed the scepter at him but Renan right hooked Loki in the face, Lash turned but Renan blocked his attack by grabbing Steve’s shield. I stood there not knowing what to do nor how to help in this situation. I gulped when Loki turned towards me with a smug look. I knew from the look in his eyes it was either Tony and me who was gonna get hit and I really didn’t want another lecture from Tony after this. I clenched up “Just hit me! Just don’t hurt him, hurt me instead!” I said preparing myself to get hit. I yelped as I got blasted back into the jet then fell unconscious as I hit it hard then slid to the ground. All that I remember is hearing Tony yell then it went all black. I woke up with a bunch of pain around my entire body. I was hearing Tony and Bruce having a conversation with Steve panicking. “Why didn't you shoot Loki when you had the chance.” I made a weak groan making all three of them look over. Steve came running over towards me. “Oh thank goodness you're awake!” He said with a relieved sigh. Tony walked over and shined a flashlight into my eyes to check my pupils. “Her eyes seem normal… well her pupils that is” he said and Bruce wrote on his clipboard. I tried to say something but all that came out was a weak and dry noise. That's when Tony looked concerned and confused at the same time. I coughed up blood making Steve look at Tony with a scared look. “She needs water her throat is dry and it's making it to where she can't talk.” Tony explained. Bruce looked at Steve who started heading out of the lab to get some water. I looked over to the other table and noticed Renan was injured. His mask was off and had cuts all over his body. Daisy was by his side, she began treating his wounds with Wanda. Steve came back with a cup of water and handed it to Tony who helped me sit up and drink some of it. My throat felt so much better as I felt the cold water run down my neck and into my stomach. He laid me back down after making the table go up so I can sit up but still be laying back. I sighed and started to shiver feeling the AC turn on, Tony sighed and took a couple of tests on both Renan and I. “Is he still asleep?” I asked Tony while he was taking my blood. “Yes, it's been a while but he fought until the end, he's a good friend.” I get up from the table and begin to walk to the bathroom. “I have to go back to the X Mansion, Charles must be pissed.” I got ready for my as normal as it gets day with my as normal as it gets family. The rest was history.
