Bad Thoughts (Yukio x Depressed! Reader)

My grades have been dropping. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I let Yukio try to help me understand how to fight these different types of demons but how can I fight what's always following me? Now I'm walking to cram school, into the class that my boyfriend, Yukio, teaches. We had another test yesterday; I'm still worried about my grade. Let's just say that I don't think Yukio will be very happy with my grade. I opened the door to the classroom and dumped my bag on the ground next to my seat by Bon.

Ten minutes later, Yukio walks in.

"Hello class, today I'll be returning your tests on the types of demons that we studied in class and how to defeat them." I watched as he walked through the rows of desks, handing back the tests one by one. It was like an eternity passed in the one minute before he got to me.

He stopped in front of my seat, frowning briefly before handing me my test. "(Y/n), I want to see you after class," he said as he placed my test down in front of me before continuing on. After passing out the rest of the tests and scolding his brother for his grade, he returned to the front of the room and starting introducing our next unit. But I didn't hear anything he was saying. Dark thoughts filled my head as I imagined the worst. He was going to expel me from cram school. He was going to tell me that he would have to talk to the director about my grades.

I kept looking at the clock, waiting for class to be done so that I could get it over with. Maybe I could sneak out quickly after class and he won't talk to me.

Then the bell rang.

I launched out of my seat with my head down and tried to exit the room among the other students. I was almost through the door when I heard my name.

"(Y/n)," Yukio called, "where do you think you're going?"

I stopped walking and turned around. " Nowhere."

"Sit down," he said, pulling a chair up across from where he wanted me to sit. I watched the rest of the class leave before taking a seat.

"(Y/N), I noticed that your grades have been dropping. You also haven't been paying attention in class and I haven't seen you give a genuine smile in weeks. You hardly talk to anyone. Why is that?"

I look up at my boyfriend, too scared to answer his question because I can feel the tears burning at the edges of my eyes threatening to fall. "I've been...I've been having problems studying and...and I can't focus on anything and I saw my grades dropping but I don't want to get kicked out of school and everything is stressful. I didn't...I didn't even want to come to school today because I knew that I didn't do good on the test a-and-" I hadn't even noticed the tears rolling down my face but now I couldn't even speak because of the lump in my throat. "I just want to stay here with you and become an exorcist and I was doing so good and I don't know what happened but now everything is difficult." Everything that had happened spilled out, one thing after another until I couldn't talk anymore.

I heard Yukio's chair scrape backward across the tiled floor as he stood up. I pretended not to hear. Yukio slid me out of my chair and onto the floor so that he could wrap his strong arms around my shoulders as they shook with each sob. We sat there for a while while I cried into his shoulder.

Finally, he broke the silence.

"(Y/N), you're not getting kicked out of cram school. I won't let that happen. If you need help studying then I can help you, okay? You know you can talk to me and ask me for help whenever you need it, right?" I nod my head and look up at him, giving a weak smile for the first time in months. It was like a giant invisible weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

"Thank you so much, Yukio. I love you."

"I love you too, (Y/N)."
