"Yukio- senpai! Wait up!" you called, running towards the dark-haired male.
"Oh, hello, (y/n). Are you on your way to Exorcist school right now?" Yukio greeted, pausing to wait for you as you ran up to him.
"Yup!" You smiled as brightly as you could while pretending to be recovering your breath from your run. "I was wondering if I could walk with you." You wanted nothing less than to walk to school with Yukio.
"Sure. But let's hurry. I don't want to be late," Yukio replied before starting to walk away.
You quickly jogged up to him and matched his stride so you wouldn't get left behind. It wasn't hard to do, you'd only memorized his stride and everything about how he walked.
"So, Yukio-"
"Yuki! Wait up! I want to walk with you!"
You and Yukio turned to see the blonde-haired girl trying to run to catch up to you two.
"Okay. (Y/n) is already here so you might as well join us," he said, pausing briefly to let Shiemi catch up.
The three of you continued on your way once Shiemi caught her breath. Shiemi and Yukio talked about various plants and what they remedied. On Yukio's right, you fumed silently. Shiemi had just ruined your walk to school with Yukio and a burning feeling of jealousy boiled within you.
Yukio was explaining to Shiemi that she really needed to stop giving plants her own names and learn the common names when you grabbed the sleeve of his sweatshirt. He stopped talking and looked down at you gripping his sleeve. You looked up at him with your big (e/c) eyes and asked him, " Can...Can I call you 'Yuki" too?"
Yukio stared at you, startled by your odd request. For a brief second, he didn't know how to respond. "Sure. I don't have a problem with you calling me 'Yuki'. Shiemi does it all the time, anyway," he responded finally. Then, he turned back to Shiemi and picked up right where he left off in his conversation with Shiemi.
You fumed silently to his right, going unnoticed by Yukio. He hadn't answered you in the way you'd wanted. What did it matter if you could call him 'Yuki' if Shiemi could too?
Well, I guess I'll just have to get rid of her.
~The next day~
"Is there anyone missing today? Where is Shiemi?" Yukio asked from the front of the class as he tried to take attendance.
"I dunno," Rin responded from the front row, "I haven't seen her since she left school with (y/n) yesterday." You looked up at Yukio from where you sat next to Rin in Shiemi's empty seat as you tried to catch Yukio's attention.
"(Y/n), do you know where Shiemi is?" Yukio asked, turning his attention to you.
"Why," you frowned, a certain darkness to your normally sweet voice. "What's she to you?" He didn't know why, but the darkness in your voice set Yukio on edge.
"Uh, I'm just trying to take attendance. I'll just mark her absent," he said, marking the 'absent' box next to her name.
"Then how come you let her call you 'Yuki!'" you demanded, barely waiting for him to finish as you jumped up out of your chair. The entire class' eyes were on you two but you didn't care.
"I didn't like being called 'Sir' or 'Teacher,' so she chose something else to call me," Yukio replied, not knowing why it was such a big deal and wanting to begin his class.
"BUT I WANT TO BE THE ONLY ONE WHO CALLS YOU YUKI!" you yelled, losing control of your frustration and annoyance.
"Um. . ." Yukio was taken aback, not knowing what to say. "So, today we will be learning about another type of higher level demon. . ." he began his lesson. You sat back down in your chair, fuming and very aware of the eyes of the whole class on you. You knew exactly how you were going to fix this little problem and as you sat through your classes, you decided that it was time to get rid of the one standing in your way once and for all.
Yukio was walking out of school after a long day of teaching when he could've sworn he saw someone following him. He glanced around, continuing on his walk upon seeing no one. At first, he brushed the feeling off, attributing it to paranoia. However, the feeling didn't leave. It continued to follow him as he walked. He let his hand brush the gun that he carried at his side as he struggled to stay calm, the feeling overwhelming him as he walked. He stopped walking and scanned his surroundings, seeing nothing but a few Coal Tar floating through the air. He thought he was alone until a pair of gloves hands clamped over his nose and mouth. The breath was knocked out of him and he attempted to inhale through the gloves but couldn't. The last thing he heard before he passed out was your sweet voice full of darkness.
"Shiemi is dead. My sanity is gone. You are mine."
