"when the skies & the grounds were one"

There were twelve kingdoms on the Exoplanet #1795, surrounding what was known as the tree of life--and each of them had their own little prince who would one day run their respective kingdom in peace with the other eleven. They were known on their planet as the legends, because of the powers they possessed, unlike anyone else on Exoplanet #1795. The stories claimed that their powers had been granted by the tree of life, given to one of pure and royal blood in each kingdom. In turn, the legends would use those gifts to nurture the tree of life and keep it alive.

The tree was the most pure and coveted thing on the planet, given that without it, the kingdoms could not thrive, and the twelve kingdoms had sworn to protect it from the evil's of the outside. The planet was blissful and they never knew the woes of war and destruction for many years. They had not known war or suffering in their lives. They had not known hunger. They had not known hatred.

That is, until the Red Force attacked and the heart of the tree of life slowly became dry.

It happened without notice one day, the kingdoms weren't prepared and didn't see it coming, as they had lived a long time of peace in their utopian societies.

Where there was once an abundance of peace and happiness, there was now bloodshed, death, and total devastation that followed. The kingdoms tried to fight against it--united through their twelve forces--but it had been no use. They were no match for the power of the Red Force which had grown in secret over time.

In an attempt to save the tree of life, the twelve kingdoms were faced with one solution. An opportunity to save the planet from the evil which had fallen upon them. The kingdoms divided the tree in half and vowed to hide each side, thus the legends divided into two and created two suns that look alike, in two worlds that seem alike. For the good of their universe, the legends were made to travel apart. It was then said that the legends would see the same sky, but would stand on different grounds. They would stand on the same grounds but would see different skies. When the planets could align once more under one sky, the legends would greet each other. They would finally be able to return home.

They sent one person from each kingdom to earth--six of them to one world, the other six to the other, which had been divided for that sole purpose. Twelve boys who would return once they could come of age and take back what was rightfully theirs as the legend stated.

The Exoplanet's only hope laid in their hands.

It had been difficult. The rulers of each kingdom had been met with a tough decision--to send their sons away to a strange planet alone, or to keep them by their side, where they would surely perish under the evil of the Red Force. The good outweighed the bad of that decision and the children had been sent away, never to see their parents alive again.

"Come back and save us one day, my darling." A beautiful queen said to her little son--sad to let him go--as she set him in a basket which would be encased in a meteor with course for one of the two worlds created to hide the boys as well as the tree of life.

It would be sent up into the heavens, and across the galaxy to a distant place, in hopes that the twelve would unite in another life--another universe--and save their beloved exoplanet from being destroyed entirely.

When the skies and the grounds were one, the legends through their twelve forces nurtured the tree of life. An old legend echoed in her mind as she ran down the street in the dead of night. All she had to illuminate her path were the street lamps and she looked over her shoulder every so often, as though she were running from something, or someone. Her lungs burned with her efforts and her legs were tired beneath her, but she willed herself to keep going. She wouldn't stop until she could know herself safe.

She ran until her body collided with someone, sending them both tumbling onto the ground. She had been distracted looking over her shoulder when it happened and she quickly apologized, picking herself off the ground.

"This girl..." She heard a familiar voice nearby, muttering under their breath in annoyance and her eyes widened in fear.

The person she had bumped into saw her expression and grabbed her by the arm, pulling her into his embrace. Jisoo closed her eyes tight and felt as though something within her changed. It was merely a second, and she felt lighter than air. When she opened her eyes once more, she felt the child of the wind hit against her skin, giving her goosebumps, and she found she was no longer on that empty streets in downtown Seoul. But she was at the top of the highest skyscraper in the middle of the magnificent city. She could feel the harsh wind attempting to push her slender body around the rooftop but the stranger held her steady, a hand gripping her arm.

She looked down at the city below. Cars appearing no bigger than ants from where they stood now. Her eyes searched for the stranger's own to find some kind of answer or explanation. She didn't know him, had never seen him in her life, but she didn't fear him. There was a familiarity, like she had known him from before, from somewhere else. But she knew she didn't.

"How did you do that?" She wondered in awe.

People with supernatural abilities couldn't possibly be real, her mind was begging her to see the logical side of things. That only happened in the movies. There was no way that a boy could will himself to materialize them off that street and onto the top of the highest building in the city. And yet, there they were. There had to be some kind of logical explanation behind it. But she could find none.

"Do what?" The boy, who appeared not much older than her, asked with a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders as though he didn't know what she was talking about.

For a moment, she considered that maybe she was dreaming. Maybe he wasn't real and she would wake up in her bed at that foster house she hated so much and always tried to escape from. Because this had been yet another of her escape attempts. Her care takers mistreated her and the other kids. Jisoo was always making escape attempts which always culminated in her being caught and sent right back to those people who only saw her as another welfare check in their wallets.

"We were just...on the street." She said with some caution, knowing well that the next words that were going to come out of her mouth were going to sound completely insane. "And suddenly you did something and got us up here."

"You're dreaming." Was all he said to her with a handsome smirk playing on his lips. He waved a hand in front of her face slowly, and suddenly her eyes became laden with sleep.

She felt as though her body were shutting down and her legs gave out beneath her, making her fall to her hands and knees on the ground. Jisoo wasn't sure if she was completely conscious anymore as she watched him take a running start and jump over the edge of the building into the abyss below.
