It had been two weeks, 3 days, and 5 hours since I had last seen or heard of Chanyeol. But really, who's counting? That's an obvious answer, me. I had told Alex the story of what happened that weekend, but I kind of let out the fact that it all happened with Chanyeol. Instead, she thinks I met a guy by the name of Minho.
"Are you still worrying about that one guy?" Alex asks while catching me staring off into space.
"Uh... maybe a little?" I respond.
"Just forget about him. If he hasn't contacted you then I don't see any reason he would be worth it. Unless..." she gets a mischievous look on her face as she comes near me, "he's great in bed," she finishes and smirks at me. My face suddenly becomes crimson.
"Well, he's not, I mean, he's not bad, not at all. I guess he's good, I mean he is good... Um but there's more to it, I swear!" I quickly respond.
"What else is there to it then?"
"I don't know. He was just so sweet and caring. Even though I didn't spend much time with him, he really seemed to be genuinely worried about me when he found me."
"Well then how come he didn't give you his number?" she asks. Damn, how do I answer this without sounding suspicious... "I'm sorry to break it to you, hun, but you were just a one night stand." Yeah that's Alex, always unfiltered. "When you think about it, there doesn't seem to be any other explanation. Unless something really did come up and for some reason he has no way of contacting you."
"I don't know..." I mumble.
"Just get over him and move on to someone more on your level. You know, someone who seems a little more realistic," she says.
With that, I make my way out of the room.
I love Alex but sometimes she just doesn't know when to quit or how to be a little more sensitive. I begin to break down and cry. Is that really true? Am I actually just a one time lay? Am I really not worth a real relationship? Fuck I am so worthless and pathetic. To think I could be like any of the other famous people who date kpop idols... but I'm just trash instead. No where near their level.
After letting that out, I decide to take a long hot shower. I connect my phone to the speaker and begin playing Exo's winter special album. After a couple of songs, I begin to finally relax and let myself get caught up in the music. As soon as my favorite song in the album begins, an annoying ringing interrupts the melody.
An unknown number... probably an annoying person trying to sell me some overpriced skin care products again. I quickly press ignore and get back to my shower. Once again the ringing disrupts my peace and quiet. It's the same number.
I disconnect my phone from the speaker and answer the call. "Hello, I'm sorry but I've think you have the wrong number. I am not interested in buying any products."
"Well that's good because I don't plan on selling you any products. And I really hope this is the right number because it would be a shame to never be able to speak to you again," a deep voice replies.
"Ch-Cha-Chanyeol? Is it you?"
"Yes darling. I can't speak for long but I would love it if you would come by later tonight. That is if you haven't already forgotten about me."
"You took so long to contact me..."
"I am very sorry about that but I couldn't call until now. I promise if I could have then I would have. So let me make it up to you when you come over tonight."
"Well let's see if you can. I'll see you tonight."
"As long as I get a chance to, I'll take it. I'll see you."
And with that, we hang up the phone.
Later that night I walk up to the door of Chanyeol's place. I ring the doorbell and he immediately opens the door.
"Well hello there," he greets me.
"Hey stranger," I reply.
"Come on in."
As soon as I step in, Chanyeol closes the door behind me and hugs me from behind.
"I missed you so much. I wish I could have spoken to you but I couldn't. We were only allowed to speak to many people other than relatives and coworkers."
I turn around and squeezed him tight. Suddenly tears begin to roll down my face.
"I missed you so much. I thought that you had forgotten all about me and had already moved on. Alex told me you I was just a one night stand. I thought I was worthless and not good enough for you," I let out.
"*Look sweetie, don't let anyone, and I mean ANYONE make you think that you're less then everyone else. Because at the end of the day, we're all just tiny dots in this world -- we're all the same, we're all humans -- it's when you put the tiny dots together that you create something beautiful. Just like the view above us," says Chanyeol as he presses a button.
I raise my head and see a cover start to move away from the ceiling. And to my surprise, it revealed the gorgeous night sky, a beautiful starry night.
"The way you cry, the way you smile, it's as mesmerizing as all of the tiny dots above us. I'll confess to you, but just listen, I'll sing for you."
