You are twelve when you see him smoke for the first time.You are horrified that he is, when did he start smoking?
The way he rolled his eyes as mom screamed at him for smoking.
In her eyes, he will never be as perfect as you.
He smiles and puffs smoke at her face.
Mom splutters as he flutters his long eyelashes at her, telling her that he doesn't care.
He cares for no one except you.
You stand next to the door, an eternity seeming to pass before both finally notice you.
Faces melting into one of concern, mom trying to separate you from him.
"Mother."
He rages at her for trying to take you away, slamming the door in her face.
"Why?"
His face loses its sneer at the sight of my crestfallen face.
"It makes me feel good."
"Why."
I don't understand why he is doing this, he isn't stupid.
He knows the consequences.
"You," he mutters softly as he refuses to look at me, running his hand through his black hair.
"You..."
My heart sinks with his words.How long has he known?
"I'm not going to-"
The words barely leave my mouth when he swings around, eyes squinting in anger. Hands reaching to clench mine as he fixes his eyes at mine, in a stare.His eyes are swirling, blurring as he clings to me. "Don't lie, why didn't you reply when I asked you to stay,"
"Please stay."
We stood together for a long time, hands intertwined with each other.Neither wanting to let go. "Till Death."
That was the first time, I seen him like this.How destructive he can be and it's all my fault.
Till Death indeed.
