Breath of Poison

I sat outside on a deck chair along side my dad, his girlfriend and their mate. They all sat puffing on their cigarettes and blowing out a pretty but deadly cloud of smoke. I've been breathing second hand smoke for years. So I simply let it wash over my face as I inhale it. It's a terrible addiction and I swear to myself that I will never smoke, but that sweet smell of tobacco puts a little voice in my head saying otherwise.
My sister barges through the front door and practically flies through the back door and plonks herself down on a spare chair.
"So, where ya been?" My dads girlfriend, Lucy asks. Down in the creek, everyone's a bogan. No denying it.
"I was just at Sarah's house." Lauren, my sister replied.
"Ahh, that's right. How was it?" Lucy questions
"It was alright" Lauren said before turning to me, "Wanna go for a walk?"
I looked down at my current outfit then replied, "Yeah alright, lemme put some shoes on"
I headed to me and my sisters room and shoved some shoes and on and tied them up. I made my way to the front door and Lauren trailed behind me. We walked down our street and headed down the main road. No destination, just our legs.
We walked all the way up the main road and found a patch of grass on the side of the road and sat down. We sat in silence for a bit until we started throw rocks onto the road. We threw many rocks on the road but stopped whenever a car passed. A white ute came towards us on the side of the road where the rocks were. As the car drove over the rocks, something popped fairly loudly. Me and Lauren gasped and giggled and ran into the bush. We laughed for a few minutes, casually in the bush then we gathered ourselves and continued down the main road.
We turned down a street and headed down a bit until we came to a paddock.
"Missy! Missy! Missy!" Lauren called out to a brown and white spotted horse. The horse turned to where her name was coming from and started trotting towards us.
"So cute." I said patting Missy as she arrived at the fence. I gave her a half hug them continued to pat her. Her moved her head and blocked the sun from my eyes so I could see better. I smiled at her and turned to my sister.
"Can we go yet?" She asks.
"In a minute..." I said, distracted my Missy again. We stayed at the paddock for a few minutes more then we headed back home as the sun started to heat us up. We walked back home in silence and threw some more rocks onto the road again. We shuffled back to our street and kicked the stones along the road that leads to our little shack.
