Shawn POV

10:00 am
I was woken up by the sound of my alarm, indicating it was time for me to get up. I wouldn't usually set an alarm for the morning, in fact I've never used the alarm on my iPhone 7 Plus. I was so used to being woken up by the booming voice of the Chief at 5am every morning and now I'm off duty I'm finally able to catch up on all the beauty sleep I've missed. I definitely missed the beauty part, my nose and lips seemed to get bigger and fatter by the day. I know I'm a man, but it ain't cute.

But today is different. I'm officially moving in to Tim's apartment, and I'm meeting with Beyoncé for lunch. Beyoncé.. I'm anxious to get to know this girl. She seemed really worried when Tim told her he was moving away, her entire mood changed. She kept talking about what if something happens like before, what on earth could have happened?

That's what I plan to find out today, if she'll open up to me. She only just met me yesterday, so I wouldn't be surprised if she only told me basic things about her.

I got my tooth brush out of my travel bag that I packed last night and brushed my teeth. All my furniture and clothes are on their way to Tim's old apartment which is now mine, so I packed a bag that I could carry my essentials in until I finally move in tonight.

Once I finished in the bathroom I put on my outfit for the day, grabbed my bag and the keys to my all black Mercedes and headed out my apartment door for the last time.

One thing I have always struggled to deal with is the constant relocating that comes with my job as a Marine. I'm now semi-retired, which means I can finally settle down and find a place for myself, hopefully without being called out to another base hundreds of miles away again.

Tim has been my brother since high school and has always been there for me even though I barely seen him. Even though he always told me what an amazing role I have and how I should continue to serve my country, when I told him I was coming home for good he was over the moon. I guess he just missed his old brother.

I missed my friends and family a whole lot too. Being around the same group of people for years, I've never had the opportunity to make any new friends who aren't Marines. I've never had time for a relationship, or another close to it. That doesn't mean I don't know how to treat a woman right.

After wrapping up my thoughts I'd already made it to the coffee shop pretty early. I parked up outside making sure to leave enough space for Beyoncé's car. I unlocked the door with the key that Tim gave me and went inside and was about to sit down at a four seated table when I saw a table for two towards the back of the shop with a sticky note attached to it reading Kelly's idea, from Tim. I chuckled slightly to myself before placing my bag down and proceeding to make two large mochas. The coffee shop is supposed to be closed today so neither Tim nor Kelly were there to wait on us, but I think I'd prefer it to be just Beyoncé and I while we get to know each other.

I had just sat down with the drinks when I heard the door open. I looked up to see Beyoncé wearing a beautiful beige trench coat with tight black jeans and black high boots, her hair naturally curly and barely any makeup.

She slowly approached me with a small nervous smile on her face and her arms tucked round her waist.

I stood up and pulled her chair out for her, "hey, take a seat."

"Thank you," she said shyly. As I sat down I looked outside and I noticed that the space I had left for her to park in was still free. "Did you get a lift here?"
