The moon was set, and it was very dark; I carried a lantern, whose light glanced on the wet steps and gravel path sodden by recent thaw clod. Reflected from the white clean tears of the rain dripping straight into the icy frozen waters of the river, shaped a clear image of my face in the chilly mirror of the stream. A floating petal blown by the wind of the gloomy sky, came down from the river's end just next to the sharp thorns of the hedgehog; the very picture of a nail rupturing in my skin.
As my brain was still picturing the view and my eyes analysing the place, something caught my attention; a skinny silhouette, like a human, but different. It just stood in one place facing me. Like I was its target. I had the feeling like it was staring at me, I tried to ignore it, but its presence haunted my soul, it felt like it was dragging me towards it. I should've ran, but now I couldn't even take a step back, if I made a little sound, who knows what would happen?
Suddenly a twig snapped! A wolf stood 2 meters away from me. Its fur thin, silver-grayish and stained with blood. Its legs covered in scars and its tired hazel eyes staring into the shallow water. I looked back and I couldn't see the figure, that was the moment that I knew I probably wouldn't get out of here alive. I didn't know what to do so I froze, I faced the tree in front of me, telling myself that this never happened. At that moment, I saw a wooden block that read "cemetery 5 meters away". I picked it up and flipped it over, what was written made my heart stop! It said "LOOK BEHIND, SHE IS WAITING, ITS YOUR TURN".
