As days rolled by Olive and Elliot started talking a lot more than they used to. They texted each other a lot, called each other from time to time. She sat with Elliot and his friends at lunch sometimes, sitting next to him in classes they had together. The two of them even went out a few times. It's only been around a month and they've already gotten really close.
So did Elliot and Mattias.
"Hey you want to hang out sometime? Like out of work?" Matt asked glancing at Elliot while looking at the road in front of him. After the day Mattias got to work half an hour late the rides home became an everyday thing.
"Yeah, of course." Elliot agreed looking at Mattias.
Matt looked like he was about to say something when Elliot's phone buzzed. He fished it out of his pocket and unlocked it.
Olive:
Hey, wanna go out tonight? Like, on a date? ;)
[Sent 18:11]
Elliot smiled down at the screen, Mattias noticing his sudden happiness.
Elliot:
Yeah, sure.
[Sent 18:11]
Olive:
At the movies at 19:30?
[Sent 18:12]
Elliot:
Okay, see ya.
[Sent 18:12]
"What are you so happy about?" Matt asked and it was only then when Elliot realized he was smiling at his phone like the idiot he was.
"Um, you remember that girl I like? I told you about her, right? Olive?" Elliot asked looking at Mattias.
"Yeah, around a hundred times. What about her?" Mattias questioned knitting his eyebrows.
"Well, I'm going on a date with her tonight." Elliot looked at his phone and back at Mattias, smiling.
Mat has tightened his grip over the steering wheel looking straight at the road ahead.
"You, um, have any, like, I don't know tips?" Elliot stammered.
"No, not really. I guess it'll be good if you get her flowers" Mattias advised. "I don't know, I'm not good at that crap." He added tapping the steering wheel.
"Yeah, okay." Elliot said looking at his lap. Was it bad that he asked? He suddenly felt the car stopping and Mattias leaning towards him. He quickly picked his head and looked at Matt.
Mattias leaned closer and closer fast. Was he trying to kiss him? And most importantly, if he was, why wasn't Elliot trying to step back?
Elliot was about to close his eyes and lean in, when he heard a sound of a door opening from behind him and saw Mattias getting back comfortable in his seat. He smiled innocently not realizing that he just left Elliot questioning himself.
Mattias had just opened Elliot's door, leaving him wide eyed, breathing heavy.
"Thanks for the ride, Matt. I really appreciate it!" Mattias said in a high-pitched voice after a few seconds of awkward silence. "Oh, no problem." He added in a low voice chuckling nervously. He clearly didn't understand why was Elliot suddenly acting so strange.
"Um, yeah, thank you for the ride." Elliot said, still confused, and looked away from Mattias. He thought that if he looked Mattias in the eyes the latter would be able to read everything he felt just a second ago. Elliot nervously tapped his feet against the floor and then quickly got out of the car through the already opened door. "Bye." He babbled.
