Chapter 10: Jace

My heart just kept pounding loud, that was all I could hear except for her body dropping. That sword just went through her chest so quickly. Queen Amethyst was dying, that was for certain. Noah and I were supposed to have our happy ending but like many things in her life, Amethyst ruined them. She literally stabbed her niece in the back.  I rushed to Noah’s aide. She body was so light, Noah was turning pale.

“Noah. Noah! Listen to me you're not leaving me! We just got our happy ending. Don't you dare die on me!” I yelled at her.

She coughed weakly. “I don't think I'm gonna make it Jacey….” Her blood was staining my clothes, that only caused me to grip her tighter.

“Don't say that... don't you say that.... we're gonna have a family... at least 3 kids.... yup... so don't worry.....” I smiled at her. I wiped a strain of her hair off her face.

“I can't….” Noah winched in pain. “I can't get up.”

I'll carry you....” I proceeded to pick her up. “I'm gonna build us... a great big house... two or three kids...... and a place to observe the stars with our kids.”

“The stars…..” Noah paused as she looked up at the castle’s skylight. “You're my alpha Jacey…” Noah smiled as she coughed up blood. With her last ounce of strength she kissed me, holding my cheek. The breath left her body and all that was left was Noah’s lifeless corpse.

Tears streamed down my eyes. She's dead. The war is over and she's dead. I kept slamming my fists against her body, trying to get her to wake up from this nightmare. From Noah’s mouth left a small blackish grey smoke cloud. The Nightmaren curse, curses are only lifted if the caster is dead, meaning Nightmaren was free. I gripped my sword as soldiers came towards me. They did this to Noah.

I got up and killed the lot of them. Nikki and the others walked in, Ash was carrying an unconscious Celina in his arms. The group gasped in horror as they saw Noah on the floor, lying dead. I keep stabbing a soldier over and over. Our of fear, Nikki came up to me.

“Uh, Jace. I think you got them.” I ignored her as I kept stabbing till she held my arm back. “Jace, you can stop. We won. It's over.”

I felt so angry. “We won? Noah died, your sister died. That seems like a victory to you?!?!” I yelled at her.

“I know how you felt, I sensed her dying in the tunnels. But you have to be strong. Noah died today so we can have tomorrow.” Airlene quoted.

I picked up Noah and shadow dashed her home. I brought her body to Aenar. We had an immediate funeral the day after. Nikki, totally devastated decided to go back home to Florida. The rest of the group decided to grieve at the dorm house as Aenar tries to deal with room situations. I just started at her grave. I punched it and broke my hand. I could've save her. No, I've could've. If I've stayed with her she'd still be alive. As I was about to leave, I saw a blonde and beautiful lady dressed all in white smiling at Noah’s grave.

“Do you wish to see her again?” She asked.

“Who are you?” I asked.

“You'll know me soon enough.” She giggled. “Do you wish to see Noah again?”

“I'd go through hell and back to see her again.”

“Good, cause you will in 3 weeks. If you do what I say.”

“What do you want?” I asked, reaching for my sword.

“Nothing now, but you'll know it when you see it. Just take this.” The woman said as she gave me a large, broken mirror shard in my hands. “And in 3 weeks time, you'll see her again.”

“Can't I see her now?” I questioned, so confused.

“You can see her, but if you want her alive, you need to wait 3 weeks. You'll know it when you see it. Farewell, Jace Sakurai.” The woman said before leaving. I stared at the shard. Instead of my reflection it was a maze. A maze of mirrors.
