A subtle breeze tickled my bare feet as I sat on the windowsill, leaning to one side with my arms hugging my chest and a cigarette stuck between my index and middle finger. As I inhaled and exhaled the lethal smoke, I thought about the uneventful day I had. Most of the time I spent laying on the couch watching the pictures flash by on the television or had my eyes glue to my phone screen, which was nothing new to my particularly boring lifestyle.

My thoughts started to turn in Teddy's direction and I couldn't help but feel a pang of envy toward Victorie for all the time she had gotten to sped with Teddy.

Things had changed ever since they had started dating. Before, I had his undivided attention. We used to have countless Disney movie marathons and often snuck out in the middle of the night to a convenience store where we stocked up on cigarettes or went to a bar where we ended up getting piss drunk.

Then things changed. Now, Teddy would spent most of his days at shell cottage and whenever we now watched movies his eyes would be glued to his phone texting Victorie rather than giving his attention to the movie. When I now brought up the topic of sneaking out or going to the countless pubs he used to enjoy visiting, it resulted In him giving me strange looks as he started to preach me about how I had to 'grow up' and stope being so 'irresponsible'. It was dreadful and most of all, it wasn't like him. No even in the slightest bit.

He had always been the crazier one of us, the one with the biggest and mostly stupid ideas. The best friend who I, on countless occasions, had to carry home because his feet wouldn't do so as his tolerance for alcohol wasn't very high. But I hadn't seen that side of Teddy in a while now. Ever since 'she' happened.

Once again my lips met with the orange side of the cigarette, which was merely a stump now and took one last drag before flicking it out the window. I exhaled the gray smoke and immediately put my hand in my pocket fishing for the cardboard box. I pulled out another cigarette and light it.

Just as I was taking my first drag I hear a clicking sound as someone unlocked the front door and a loud thump at it was shut closed. There wear squeaking sounds as the person walked upstairs and seconds later my door opened to reveal the all too familiar blue haired boy.

His face cracked the signature smile that I loved, and knew all to well. He slipped the backpack off his shoulders and extremely ungracefully dropped it on the floor with a loud thump.

Walking across the room over to me, he had a slight sway in his step and I couldn't help but notice and find oddly attractive. It was confusing and weirdly endearing how good he looked doing something as simple as walking.

"Hey, glad you finally decided to show up!" I said, breaking the silence, trying to keep my voice and expression light hearted even though there was a mix of anger and jealousy burning in the pit of my stomach.

"Watch it! For a second it sounded like you actually cared." He laughed, taking a set next to me on the windowsill.

I rolled my eyes in response. "Oh come on! You should be honored you're one of the few people I actually give a shit about."

"Oh I'm very honored!" He said, his words laced thick with sarcasm as he mockingly place a hand on his heart.

I chuckled and let the cigarette meet my lips as I took a drag. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Teddy's making a face I'd never seen him make when he was around cigarettes.

"What's got your face looking like you bit into a lemon?" I asked slightly confused now.

"Those will kill you, you know?" He said his face forming an expression that could have been compared to concern, as to disgust.
