Chapter 9

Natsu Dragneel.

He walked in with his siblings.

What made him come back?

No, what made him leave in the first place?

I wish my mom could be like him.
Not like him, but what he did.

To leave, then comeback.

But for her to comeback to me and never leave.

I'll have to visit her soon. Maybe tomorrow?
No, I might have to go tonight.
I'll stay there as long as she's sick.
I'll go talk to the principle, and Jude.
Of course after school.

I sit there talking with my friends trying to hide how anxious I was.

Finally the bell rang.

"Let's get to Mr. Happy's class before he makes us buy him fish." I say to Levy.

Me and Levy walked down the hall to our lockers. I grabbed my stuff and my phone and put it into my bag.

I walked into the class and into my seat not giving a care as to who was sitting beside me.
"Hi." The guy beside me said. I went ridged. He just talked to me.

I turned around to the side and said, "Hi."

"You look sad." Said the guy with salmon hair.

"I do?" I asked him. My face was blank, no emotion expect that my eyes were a little watery.

He gave a heartwarming smile, "Do you want to talk about it? I hear that makes people feel better." Said Natsu.

"Oh, also my names Natsu."

"My names Lucy, um before my mom got remarried and was with my dad, she got really sick. She was still sick when she left my dad."
He interrupted me, "Why did she leave him?" He asked.

"Um well, he thought she was going to die and got bored so he started dating other women. Then one night we came home to find him in bed with another woman." I told him.

The teacher came in at that point.

He looked kinda disappointed that he couldn't hear my story.

Eh, I pay attention to the class.
As we worked with our partners, me and Natsu were the first ones done. Natsu isn't very smart, but he does know what he's doing. At least this stuff.

"So, why are you here and not with your mother?" Asked Natsu.

"Lewis plays baseball, so they went to Florida so he could possibility get signed. Don't get me wrong." I said before he could interrupt, "Lewis is a nice guy, he's exactly what my mom needs. It's just that I haven't seen my dad since I was 6. And now I'm 17, so I was open to go and see him. He said that he changed, but I don't know."

I finished my sentence.
"So, why are you sad?" He asked another question.

"My mom's sick, and the doctors said that if she got sick before 19 years passed, she was more likely to die. And, as I was there most of the time when she first was sick, I could picture every detail of what could happen in my head."
I finished explaining to Natsu the reason I was upset.

"Aye. Did you two finish your work?" Mr. Happy asked while walking up to us.

"Ah, yes sir." I said to the miniature teacher in blue.

As he walked away Natsu asked me, "And what are you gonna do about all of this?"

"I'm thinking about either tonight or tomorrow to go visit her, and stay with her till she either passes or gets better." I informed him almost crying again.

He put his hand on my shoulder and gave another heartwarming smile.
"Don't worry. I'm sure she'll be fine."

*The bell rang for class to end and he ran out of the room*

I slowly packed up my things.
"Lu~Chan!"

I turn around to see the petite girl with blue hair.

"Hey Levy~Chan!" I say happily to her.

We walk out of the class and carry on with the rest of the day.
