Chapter 8

*Monday morning*

*Lucy's pov*

The weekend was so much fun.

To be honest, I've never watch 50 shades of Grey before, but I don't know how to rate it. I mean, it was good, I guess.

Cana got us all in trouble.

And thanks to her, I'm grounded.

I can't believe that he grounded me! I tried telling him that we told her not to bring it, and that she was in the hospital and we didn't sneak her in.
But, he doesn't seem to care.

Mom had also called me, she and Lewis are wonderful. They found them the perfect house in Florida.

Lewis and mom are mostly stuck at the baseball field, or batting cage.
But, mom has gotten a little sick.

She went home to rest, I was really worried for her.

The only other time she got sick, was when the thing with dad happened.

But, now it's Monday. We get to see all of our friends.

Mira told me that Levy told the guys they could come sit with us now, but they didn't before because Levy scared them off just so she could make sure that didn't scare me.

And I thought Erza was the scary one.
So, I've gotten pretty use to the idea of that that Natsu person is not coming back.

I get out of my car.

*Ring* *Ring*

I picked up my phone and looked at who was calling me.

Mom

I answered as soon as I saw that it was mom.

"Hello?" I asked to start the conversation.

"Hey Lucy" Lewis answered instead of mom.

"Where's mom?"I ask the man.

"Well, she had to go to the hospital, seems like what caught her last time is coming back."

I didn't say anything. The last time she had this she almost died.

The doctors had told me something when she got out. The doctors told me that if she had ever gotten this sickness again, that she was certain to die.

Even if it wasn't as strong as it was before.
Her body was still healing from before, and if she had gotten sick again, anytime before 40 years, she was more likely to die.

I could see the scene happing before my eyes.

The doctors were frantically running around the room.

The patient on the table was no other than Layla Heartfilia.

She was a beautiful woman, whose daughter looked just like her.

But she was on her way to death, her heartbeat was coming to a slow stop.

Her heart would beat faster like it was about to give its last beat, but then went back to normal.

But, this wasn't the first time she was this sick.
The doctors ran around stabbing needles and other stuff into Layla's blood stream.

They were getting ready for a CODE-99
where they would do cardioversion.

They would shock the woman to hopefully get her heart beating again.

Her heart stopped, the doctors paged for CODE-18

The team with all the equipment came in and set the stuff up, checking to see that all berating and heart beating has stoped.

"Clear!" The doctor hold the equipment yelled.

The bell rang.

I ran inside, almost breaking down into tears. I forgot all about my phone so I turned it off.

I ran into class after getting my stuff.

"Thank you for joining us Ms. Heartfilia." Mr. Gildarts said to me as I hurried to my seat.

I didn't really pay attention to his math lesson, I kept on staring out of the window.

Then, "Ms. Heartfilia, would you like to answer number 24?" Mr. Gildarts asked me.
I shook my head.

"Pay attention." He turned around and started working again.

*Lunch*

Me and Levy walked into the lunchroom.

The girls were sitting there with some boys, some I recognized while others I didn't.

"Hey Levy, Lucy!" Mira called to us happily.

Oh, me and Levy are usually the last ones at the table.

"My my, my eyes can't deal with the brightness of your beauty my lady." On of the guys said.

"Knock it off Loke." Erza said.

"Mira! Can I sit with you guys today?" Asked a girl that was somewhat similar to Mira.

"Sure Lis." She said.

Lis? Is that short for something?
"Oh Lucy! This is my younger sister Lisanna!" Mira said.

"Hi Lisanna." I said to the girl with short white hair.

"Hi." She said not very happily.

We all sat down and started talking.

Then they walked in.
I didn't pay attention to the mm till I saw him.
Natsu Dragneel.
