"That boy was quite nice, attractive too." My mom said and sipped her coffee. I almost choked on my cereal.

"Yeah, he's nice." I said noncommittally once I could breathe again. My mom chuckled.

"I heard lots of laughing coming from your room." I shrugged. "I'm glad you're making friends."

I looked up and studied her. She was beautiful, her skin always radiant even when she was tired. She was a rare soul, generous and kind, unselfish. Yet still people walked all over her and took her kindness for weakness.

"You need to make some friends of your own." I said.

"I have you, who else do I need?"

Her words tugged at my heartstrings, and I had to look down at my cereal and calm myself down before I started crying.

"When are you going to get a girlfriend?" She blurted, erasing my desire to cry and instead making me choke once again, this time on air.

"Mom."

"What? Wait, is it boyfriend?" I just stared silently at her. She was entering a minefield I didn't want to step anywhere near.

"I have no problems with gay people. I actually find it very cute, so if you don't support it then I'll have to fight you." She said. I laughed before I could stop myself, then my eyes glanced to the clock on the wall.

"I've got to go," I stood up and kissed my mom's cheek, "love you." I put my bowl in the sink and grabbed my bag from next to the chair, then headed out the door. I almost didn't hear the soft 'love you too' that came from the dining room.

I got to school 20 minutes early with the intent to find Jinyoung. I expected him to be in the library, or somewhere hard to find, but surprisingly enough I found him at his locker.

"Jinyoung." I said, startling him.

"Shit, Yug. You scared me." He said and closed his locker door.

"Yeah, okay, can I ask you something?" He looked at me like he was going to make some smart ass comment but realized how nervous I was and gave me his full attention.

"What is it?"

"I need you to eat lunch with me."

"That's not a question. And don't I do that everyday?"

"No, BamBam invited me to eat lunch at his table today... and I said yeah." I looked away from him at the wall. I wasn't in my right mind yesterday, but today I was, and the realization of what I'd done had hit me like a truck. I knew that I wouldn't be able to survive if it was just me, so I was going to recruit Jinyoung, no matter what it took.

"Ahhh, I see. Feeling nervous around your new boyfriend?" He taunted as he leaned up against the row of lockers behind him.

"Shut up, he's not my boyfriend and I don't like him like that. Just eat lunch with me, okay?"

"What's in it for me?"

I sighed and said something I knew I would regret. "I'll do whatever you want."

Jinyoung smirked and put a finger to his chin in thought. After a moment, his smirk grew wider and he stood straight up. He walked closer to me until our faces were only inches apart. I was taller than him, so he had to look up at me. He leaned into my ear.

"Act cute for me." He said, throwing me completely off guard. Jinyoung kept getting weirder and weirder.

"NO." I said and pushed him back. I hated acting cute, and he knew it.
