It was Friday, a day I was partially happy about and partially dreading. I was happy because Friday meant two days of no learning, but the downside was two days of no dancing. I didn't belong to any outside dance studio anymore because of our financial situation, and there were no good spots in my house to dance, so I always had to spend the weekend trying to refrain from practicing.

I headed to Civics, extremely happy for the upcoming two days away from it, and walked inside. BamBam had gotten there before me and was standing up and talking to Jackson, but gave a friendly smile and wave when I walked in. I returned it and headed to my seat to wait for class to start.

I looked over to BamBam and watched him with Jackson, a guy who was pretty well known around our grade. He and BamBam were good friends, and he was very nice, but some people didn't appreciate his sometimes overdramatic and extroverted ways. I for one didn't find him annoying, quite the opposite in fact. I thought he was endearing.

Our teacher shut the door and addressed the class, starting an hour of torture.

"So we'll be doing group assignments-"

Everyone sighed deeply, already knowing that they wouldn't get to choose their partners.

"-and I've already paired off everyone. So listen up." He listed off the pairs, and I mostly zoned out until I heard my name.

"...BamBam and Yugyeom, you will be a pair..."

I looked at BamBam, a bit surprised by the pairing. I was glad that I was with someone I knew, but the timing was a bit weird. We had only started talking a couple of days ago.

BamBam looked back at me, his facial expression a mixture of shock and excitement. I smiled and then turned my attention back to the teacher, curious as to what the assignment was.

"I want you guys to make a project about what Civics is to you. This could be in PowerPoint form or essay form, anything really, it's up to you." He said.

Civics to me meant emotional and mental suffering.

"I'll give you rest of the class to talk with your partners." He said. I looked at the clock on the wall, only 5 minutes were left. This day had gone by fast. The next thing I knew BamBam was standing next to me, and I drew back a little.

"Isn't this exciting? We're partners!" He said with a big smile. I couldn't help but smile back, his mood was contagious.

"So uh, wanna come to my place after school to work on it?" I asked, turning my face slightly so that he wouldn't see how nervous I was. I had never invited someone to my house before, not  even Jinyoung.

"Really? I'd love to!" BamBam answered, his smile somehow growing wider. The bell rang at that moment, signaling that lunch time had come. I stood up and gathered my things, ready to go join Jinyoung. Silently we both walked out of class together, then stopped outside the door.

"I'm looking forward to seeing you tonight, Yugyeom. Will you be dancing after school first?" he asked.

I thought it over for a moment. "Nah, We'll just go straight to my house. Meet me by the Tree of Tranquility after school and we'll go from there." I said.

"Okay!" BamBam said and walked away, waving at me before turning around again.

Weirdly, I was looking forward to tonight too.

I walked out of school and stood underneath the tree, silently waiting for BamBam to arrive. Jinyoung walked past me, then stopped and turned around, his eyes wide.
