...

at wonwoo's home

wonwoo slowly walked up the staircase of his home, silence filling the lonely atmosphere. he casually strolled down the short hallway that was faintly dimmed with the small light hanging from above. he entered the small doorway of his bedroom, switching on the lights. he yanked his heavy book-bag off the carpet and onto the side of his desk. he began doing his homework, the faint screaming of younger children outside replacing the usual silence of his home.

the studying teen hunched over, beginning to reread the chapter for his short math exam tomorrow. every once and a while he would roll his head around, popping his neck. the words he read slowly spun around the back of his mind, his brain trying its best to process the information it was rapidly receiving.

he squeezed his eyes shut as they begun stinging from the words he read, his mind slowly swirling around. he leaned back in his chair, taking a short break from diligently working. he tipped his head back slightly, resting both his head and neck on the chair. the small brunet let out a long drawn out sigh as he hugged his knees, pressing them against his chest.

wonwoo jumped as he heard his distant doorbell ring, which rarely ever rings. he slowly climbed out of his seat, walking down his steep staircase. he ruffled his hair and rubbed his dry eyes, lazily unlocking the door, turning the knob, and swung the door open.

he adjusted his glasses as he squinted to see who it was. the shorter boy looked up furrowing his eyebrows.

mingyu?

wonwoo gripped his sleeve tightly. "how did you even find my house..?" he trailed off.

"jennie told me your address," mingyu said with a dorky smile plastered onto his face.

"what in the world- why though?" wonwoo responded, still suspicious.

"i said to jennie i wanted to talk to you in private, you know, to know you better since you seemed like an interesting guy," mingyu replied with a slightly higher tone this time.

me? interesting? dude, you're a comedian. i'm anything but interesting. sorry. wonwoo thought.

wonwoo nodded, leading the taller boy to the dining table. he opened the wooden cupboard, carefully grabbing two short glass cups. he gently placed one of the cups on the counter that was in pristine condition as he filled the other one with filtered water. the kitchen was practically brand new since his mother never cooked, and wonwoo would just eat her leftovers from a fast food place. if his mother didn't come home one night, he would just rely on 24/7 open fast food "restaurants" and order from there or just eat junk food, yet he was still a slim guy.

he walked to the dining table with the two brimming cups of water and handed one of them to mingyu. he softly tapped the sides of the glass cup with his fingertips, his eyes wandering around the kitchen, purposely avoiding locking eyes with the man in front of him.

"do you have any parents?" mingyu asked the brunet.

"o-oh, yeah. my mother only comes home though." wonwoo said, digging his nails into his own thigh to prevent him from flipping the whole damn table overdue to mingyu's beauty.

"what about your father?" the question mingyu asked made wonwoo panic, since he didn't know much about his father, and he wanted to avoid an awkward and dry conversation.

"ah, my father goes on countless business trips since he manages a huge company, so he only comes home 2 times a month." wonwoo's heart began to beat out of his chest, not believing he just told mingyu a fat lie about his family.

"so, do you know the school fairly well?" wonwoo struggled to speak due to his mind still racing about mingyu's beauty and how he managed to make up a lie about his father that quickly.

"i'm pretty sure i got the whole format of the school down in my head already so i won't get lost. plus, there are a ton of people willing to be my 'friend' so it can get a bit overwhelming. although i did manage to make a good friend, i guess. his name is minghao and he came from china all the way to here. he's a pretty nice guy and quite aggressive." he followed his reply with a muted chuckle.

wonwoo lifted his head to look at mingyu, seeing him in a quite nervous and uncomfortable state. the older looked back down and stared at his glass, the water gently swirling around in repeated circles.

"can i ask you a question, woo?" mingyu softly said, taking a sip of his water.

"you already asked one, but sure, why not?" wonwoo locked eyes with gyu, his lips slightly parting.

"w-what do you define your sexuality as?"
