Pushin' Too Hard

Two women headed out for a cross-country ride,
they went lookin' for America, and a little sunny
southern California weather.

Gliding along the open highways and byways,
they went searchin' for some truth and freedom.

They found neither, cause talkin' bout being free,
and actually bein' free, are two different things.

They found out, don't tell anybody they're not free,
cause they'll kill you to prove they are.

It was the hard woman in them that made them
want to play this dangerous game, but neither of
them gave in an inch to their fears.

Still, it was no easy ride, because of the increased
paranoia. It was like lookin' in a mirror and
seeing a police car.

Instead, these two counterculture outlaws of the
90's found something more valuable than the seven
letter name of the greatest country in the world.

All they wanted was to be free, and maybe they were
pushin' it too hard, cause at the end of the road, that's
the way it turned out to be.

These two women had come lookin' for America and
they weren't never coming back because like all good
soldiers, they died in the end for what they believed.
