A wisp of purple hair greets me at the door. Laney gives me a huge smile and steps aside to let me in.
"How was the interview?" she asked. Closing the door, I start to take my shoes off.
Tell her how badly you failed, Liam. Be a disappointment.
I told her it was fine but that I was a little tired and that I wanted to take a nap before starting my part time shift later.
Without waiting for a response, I immediately walk upstairs toward my room, lock the door, and plop down on my bed.
You shouldn't have left the interview like that.
I stared at the ceiling.
Why are you like this, Liam? Laney tries so hard to provide for you and you couldn't even go through an entire interview without messing it up.
I closed my eyes.
If only Mom were here, she would remind you of how disappointing you always were. That's why she -
