Chapter 16

The excitement over the Raw/Smackdown crossover at the United Center in Chicago was everywhere. All the major networks like ESPN were promoting it like crazy, & there was even a billboard.

As the Superstars all gathered at the United Center for this big event, they could all feel the excitement.

For Dean & Kristie, it was great to be reunited with friends of theirs who were on Monday Night Raw like Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns.

For Dean, getting the chance to hang out with his former Shield brothers was always a lot of fun because all 3 would just talk for what would seem like hours.

For Kristie, seeing friends of hers such as Sasha Banks & Bayley was fun as well.

As for the matches, only three titles were on the line. The Raw women's title, the Smackdown tag team title, & the United States title.

Those matches were going to happen later. There were others that had to happen before those three title matches.

First up was a tag team match between Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas, formerly of the Miztourage, against Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin. It was very hard fought, but Gable & Benjamin won.

Then it was time for the US title match between AJ Styles, who had beaten Chris Jericho for it the week before, & former NXT champion Bobby Roode, who had decided to answer the US Open challenge. After multiple Phenomenal Forearms & Styles Clashes, Styles thought he had it won until Roode got him with a Glorious DDT, becoming the new United States champion as a result.

While the celebration over that was going on, Kristie & Asuka were getting themselves warmed up for their match against Natalya & Lana Young.

However, when she noticed Lana walking towards the men's locker room, Asuka gently nudged Kristie in the ribs & looked over in the direction Lana went in.

"Go on, yujin," said Asuka saying the word "friend" in her native Japanese. Kristie nodded at her & went off.

As she made her way towards where Lana was going, Kristie's palms got sweaty, & she could feel the anger rising within her.

She just had a feeling that something bad was about to happen.

Turns out that she was right.

Kristie found Lana trying to get into Dean's locker room. She quickly grabbed the redhead & punched her right in the face. Lana fell against the door from the impact.

Lana was now in complete shock as she saw her rival standing over her while she held her cheek.

However, she wasn't ready for what was going to happen next.

"Hello, Lauren," said Kristie staring down at her. Lana was now in even more shock then she was before.

"How did you know....." Lana started to say when Kristie said to her, "Shut the fuck up, you stupid slut," said Kristie with a menacing look on her face.

"What are you really doing here, Lauren? Out for revenge or doing your cousin Renee's dirty work?" asked Kristie.

Lana looked at her enemy with wide eyes. She just couldn't believe that Kristie had remembered her from all those years ago.

"How did you find out who I was? How do you know about Renee?" asked Lana. Kristie just laughed.

"Don't you read the headlines?" asked Kristie. "Didn't you know that Renee was deported back to Canada for violating her work visa & was also convicted of marriage fraud? Did she tell you that the marriage license in Nevada was unverified? That the whole 'marriage' to Dean was for Total Divas? Did she tell you that, Lauren, or did mommy & daddy protect you from all of that shit like they did before when everyone found out that you were fucking my brother Vinnie?"

Lana was now terrified. Her attempt to make a name for herself in WWE as well as ruin Kristie's life was failing right in front of her eyes.

However, she wasn't about to let her enemy have the last laugh.

"So what? I don't give a flying fuck about my cousin fucking up her life. My family & I have had nothing to do with her in over 10 years," said Lana.

Kristie, however, didn't believe her, & neither did someone else.

"Is that true, Lana, or should I call you Lauren?" said the Miz who just happened to have overheard what was said.

Lana looked at the IC champion in shock. She had no idea that he knew as well.

"You see, Lauren, my wife & I hired a friend of ours to have you investigated, & man, what we found out was terrific," said the Miz with a chuckle.

"You see, the real reason you want to destroy Kristie is because she has everything, & you don't," said the Miz who then joined by Maryse.

"Is that so, Miz?" asked Lana with a chuckle. "What do you intend to gain from knowing all of this about me?"

The Miz, Maryse, & Kristie all looked at each other & laughed.

"Oh, we don't intend to gain anything. Except maybe you getting fired from WWE," said Maryse.

Lana just laughed.

"Well, I'm not going anywhere. I signed a long term deal with this company so I'm not going anywhere," said Lana with a laugh.

However, despite her confidence at that moment, Lana's troubles weren't over.

Not by a long shot.
