Chapter 7

Spencer's P.O.V.

I sat at the bar stool swirling my drink as I waited with Hanna and Caleb for people to arrive. Lily was with my mom's for the night but that doesn't mean I was getting drunk anytime soon. We heard a knock at the door and Hanna pulled Caleb to the door as they rushed to greet their guests.

"Thanks for coming Ar and Toby" Hanna said greeting Toby and Aria, who were tangled in each other's arms, I sight I never thought I'd see, at the door.

"We wouldn't miss it for the world," Aria replied with lust in her eyes as she looked at Toby. "Grace is with my mum so we're off duty for the night" she joked

"Well the dinner is in the backyard but there are drinks at the bar so help yourself," She replied motioning them to the backyard where I was awkwardly waiting for Emily and Alison or just someone other than Aria or Toby.

"Hey Spence," Toby greeted me

"Hey Toby, Aria," I replied

"Its so good to see you again Spence, you know we should really just go on one of our own Sparia dates. You know, for old times sake," Aria said with a warm yet haunting smile

"Yeah sure," I replied with a genuine smile remembering those times. Aria and I were always the closest out of all the girls, we always helped each other during rough times and we always made each other laugh. I don't know what happen to those times now. "Drinks?" I asked motioning them towards the jugs of various cocktail mixes

"No, I'm good" Aria replied

"I could use one," Toby replied and he poured himself a drink, leaving all of us in complete silence

As soon as Emily and Alison arrived, Emily rushed to the kitchen as she was helping with the food for the night. Alison came over to me in pity, as she saw the situation I was in.

"Hey Spence," She said giving me a big hug

"Hey Ali"

"Hi Aria, Hey Toby" Alison said as she gave Aria a hug

"Hey," Aria replied as she returned her hug

"Hi Ali," Toby replied slowly sipping on his drink. The only thing you could hear were the ice in his drink clashing with the sides of the glass.

"So, everyone get seated because I'm pretty sure Emily will be coming out with food soon," Hanna said filling the empty atmosphere

Everyone moved to their designated seats with their name place cards on them, there were four chairs at each end of the table. Hanna and Caleb sat in the middle two seats on one side whilst the two other couple sat next to each other on the other side. Whilst I was seated next to Hanna and there was a random empty seat on Caleb's side. Hanna, who always insisted Toby and I were destined soulmates, made me sit in front of him. I don't know how sitting us across from each other, where I have full view of Toby and Aria, will help in getting us back together. Small talk was made throughout the table, and I insisted on talking to Hanna because it would distract me from the deep conversation that was happening on the other side of the table between Aria and Toby.

"Food is served," Emily said as she brought out all the food and set it down on the table. Everyone gave her questioning looks "Don't worry, all of this is catered. Do seriously none of you trust me in a kitchen?!" She stated and we all burst out in laughter, we all settled down and shared around the food. Everyone was talking in small groups until they heard the bell door ring. Caleb got out of his chair and made his way to the door, no one was really paying attention to what was happening until someone walked into the backyard.

"Ezra . . ." Aria said shocked

"Hey, sorry I'm late. I had to close up the Brew and there were some sleep deprived teenagers who desperately needed coffee," Hey explained distracted, taking his seat next to Caleb. Aria stiffened in her seat and continued to talk to Toby

"Ummm, Ezra is one of my groomsmen so it was only fitting to invite him," Caleb explained

The night continued on with the same awkwardness as it started with, everyone still engaged in small conversation as everyone on that table was trying to avoid at least one person. All of a sudden Aria stood up and started to speak, "I know this is Hanna and Caleb's night but it is a very rare occasion that we are altogether so I would like to make an announcement. I'm pregnant!" The whole table was stunned and now it was Ezra and I's turn to stiffen up in our chair's.

"Congrats!" Emily said to break the silence

"Congrats guys," Caleb said

"Yeah, congrats Aria" Alison said coldly

"We're all so happy for you," Ezra stated still stunned

"I'm so happy for you Ar!" Hanna added

"Yeah, we're really excited for this little one," Toby said with a big grin on his face, all eyes laid on me as I had not said anything yet.

"I'm so happy for you guys," I said plainly

"I think we should toast," Toby said as everyone raised their glasses, "To Hanna and Caleb, you two have and undeniable eternal love for each other. I can't be more happy for you two to involve me in such a massive part of both your lives. And to my wife, I love you so much. I can't wait for us to grow old together and to have children together. I will love you forever Spencer Hastings" Everyone was stunned and Toby didn't even realised he had slipped in the wrong name. All eyes played on me as I sank in my chair, Toby had finally realised what he had done and still everyone was silent. The man I have loved forever had just confessed he loved me back. But did he actually love me back? Or was it just a slip up? Should I say something? Why isn't anyone saying anything?!

"This isn't the first time," Aria whispers but everyone can hear it as there was a deafening silence

"What?!" Hanna, Caleb, Toby and I said
