It was June 24, 1978 and it was the day of the graduation. Also, it was Fiona’s eighteenth birthday. It was 9:42 a.m. and the graduating seniors were wearing green and white robes as they were walking to the chairs that were in rows. “I’m so proud of you, Fiona.” Uncle Raymond said. “Thank you, Uncle Raymond.” Fiona said, while they hugged. “Fiona, I want to give you this beautiful present.” Marge told. Marge has medium length curly brunette hair, and green eyes. Marge gave Fiona a rectangular box that had a red wrapping paper. Fiona ripped the wrapping paper, she opened the box, and she exclaimed, “No way! This necklace is beautiful!” “It’s a passion necklace.” Marge told. The passion necklace has two red blood teardrop crystals that hang from the ends of the unusual off the center design and it also has satin ribbons.  “Thanks, Mom.” Fiona reported. “You’re welcome, Fiona.” Marge commented. The school’s principal, Robert Cooper walked to the Hawkins family and he replied, “Hello, Fiona. Is this your family?”  “Yeah. This is my mother, Marge.” Fiona said. “Hello. It’s nice to meet you, Principal Copper.” Marge replied. “This is my father, Kurt; my grandmother, Anita, and my grandfather, Harry.” Fiona finished her sentence. “It’s really nice to meet all of you.” Principal Cooper assumed. “It’s nice to meet you too, Principal Cooper.” Kurt assured. Fiona’s best friend, Ashleigh ran to Fiona and she exclaimed a question, “Can you believe we’re graduating today?!” “I know!” Fiona exclaimed happily. “Principal Copper, I have the most heartfelt speech to speak.” Ashleigh told. “I will be glad to hear that speech of yours.” Principal Cooper told.  “Thanks.” Ashleigh said. “Ashleigh, are you coming to the party tonight?” Fiona queried.  “Brady’s party?” Ashleigh questioned. “Yeah. Are you coming with Greg?” Fiona inquired. “Yeah. We’re so going to go to the party.” Ashleigh spoke. Ashleigh Blue was Italian American; she has wavy brunette hair, and hazel eyes.

Fiona and Ashleigh walked to their friends; Riley, Daniela, Marisa, Chavez, Nicholas, Camille, including, Doug. “Babe, can’t you believe that today is the day that we’re graduating?” Doug doubted. “I know! It’s really hard to believe that we go to this school for four years. Time really does flies, doesn’t it?” Fiona admitted. “Yeah, but we would still have memories.” Ashleigh comforted. “Totally, I mean, we can still hang out all together, like after the graduation, Brady’s having a party.”  Later, ninety nine people arrived. At 12:52 p.m., ten hundred and fifteen people showed up. Principal Cooper walked to the speaker and he told, “Seniors of 1978, please march to your alphabetic seats!” They walked to their seats and sat. Principal Cooper cheered, “Ladies and gentlemen, let’s congratulate our seniors of 1978!” The crowd applauded. “Right now, I’m letting the William Floyd High School chorus to sing the classic song, We Are the Champions by Queen.” They applaud again. The quintet band showed up on stage with their instruments, except the drummer because his drum set was already on stage and he was holding onto his drumsticks. The lead singer tapped on the microphone until the feedback screeched. “Oh, I’m sorry.” She said. “Psss, Angie, don’t worry. We’re going to make this performance memorable.” “Are you sure, George?” Yes, you know I’m sure. Think about us, practicing in the garage. We’re going to steal this show.” He walked to Angie, holding her hand and placed his lips against hers. The seniors screamed, “Woo!” “Seniors. Goodness gracious!” Anita said.

Angie inhaled and exhaled. She sang,

I’ve paid my dues
