The story takes place in Long Island, New York in 1978 when fifteen year old Kyle Jackowski got his left hand cut off at his cousin, Brady Hunter's party. Kyle has brunette hair, brown eyes, he's Caucasian, and he was born on January 12, 1963. Days before Kyle's hand went on to massacre victims, his girlfriend, fiancée, and wife, Jessica Harrington got pregnant at the young age of fifteen. She and her family are rich because her great grandmother invented skin care products in 1947. Jessica was growing up with her two sisters; Ariana, and Lindsay, which they are triplets with Jessica, and their two older half sisters are Deborah and Nolee. Nolee has a five year old daughter named, Leila. Also, they were growing up with their parents; Joyce and Dean. The girls were also growing up with their brothers; Daniel (July 2, 1966) and Derek (May 6, 1957). Their mother, Joyce Harrington is a former model, and she's an actress. Her mother was a vocal coach and her father was a teacher. Jessica, Ariana, and Lindsay have hazel eyes, brunette hair, they're Caucasian, and they were born on April 3, 1963. In order to kill Hand, Kyle and Jessica must get help from their friends, Nicole Sinclair and Patrick Bailey. Nicole had a long dark brunette Farrah Fawcett hairstyle with deep brown eyes, she is African American with descents of Native American, Irish, and Cape Verdean. She was growing up with her four siblings; Cheri and Ralph (June 8, 1965), Rebecca (January 22, 1965), and Bobbi (December 12, 1968) and her parents; Louise and Maurice. Also, she was born on November 5, 1962 and raised in Sleepy Hollow. Patrick had short feathered platinum blonde hair with light blue eyes, he was born on August 17, 1963, he's Caucasian, and he was growing up with his three siblings; Alvin (February 9, 1967), Michael (March 17, 1969), and Brooke (June 5, 1972) and his parents; Revetta and Craig. Nicole and Patrick became a couple ever since they were in sixth grade in April 1975. Nicole and Patrick were in Mr. Capolla's Fine Arts class, which contained choreography, acting, and performing. Nicole was the only girl in that class and it was her favorite subject. Mr. Capolla's class was consisted of six students; Willy Diggs played the keyboards, Willy was African American, he was two hundred and three pounds, he had an afro, he was in his junior year, and his girlfriend was Malia Hutchens. Willy would tell his classmates that he has 'hot flashes' and everybody would get annoyed when Willy had hot flashes. Kenny Martin played the flute, he was Caucasian, he had a light brunette haircut, he wore eyeglasses, he was also in his junior year, and he would Willy that he had to stop saying that he had hot flashes. Fred Marino played rhythm guitar, is Patrick and Nicole's friend, he is Hispanic American, he has brunette hair, brown eyes, and he was in the ninth grade, along with Patrick and Nicole. Daniel Russo played the drums, has green eyes, light freckles, brunette hair. Also, he was in his junior year, along with Willy and Kenny. Patrick played the lead guitar and Nicole played the bass guitar. Mr. Capolla considered that he wanted Nicole to be the lead singer, but she refused because she doesn't want to become the main attention. It was June 8, 1978 and Nicole and her mother, Louise and her sisters, Rebecca and Cheri just went back home from Rainbows for dress shopping for the dance at Villa Barone Manor at 2:40 p.m.

The phone was ringing and Nicole raced to the phone and she picked up the phone and she answered, "Hello?"

"Hi, Nicole. Can I come over now?" Patrick asked. "Yeah. My mom, Rebecca, Cheri, and I just got back from Rainbows." Nicole replied.

"Thanks, Nicole. There's something that I have to say to you." Patrick said.

"What is it?" Nicole questioned.

"I love you." Patrick replied with a whisper.

"I love you, too." Nicole responded.

"Was that Patrick on the phone?" Louise asked. "Yeah, Mom." Nicole said. "Is he coming over?" Louise asked again. "Yeah." Nicole assumed. "I hope you two can have fun!" Louise exclaimed, smiled at Nicole. Louise became a cool mother during Nicole's pre teen years from 1972 to 1975.
