The glowing full moon reflected off of long grey fur, giving it the appearance of long grass in the wind, swaying gently. An older grey warrior stumbled out of camp using an exit only he knew. In his jaws were many beautiful, stark white flowers. He carried on, not caring if someone had followed him, it was too late for them to stop him from meeting his mate again. The tom carried on, past the border, his strides long and quick, his jaw set and his yellow eyes sparkling in determination.
He traveled several more fox-lengths, his chest rising and falling sharply. He suddenly paused by a seemingly shallow dip in the ground surrounded by dozens of star-shaped flowers of every colour. The tom was suddenly struck with doubt and he wondered if it was a good idea. He shook his head, it was either this or facing the pitying looks of his clanmates till his time was up.
His mind set, he walked into the dip in the ground and stalked through a wide slit in the hole. He kept walking on and was met with a small cave, he padded in and set down the gorgeous snowy flowers and, without a second thought, ate every single one of them, not sparing a petal.
He curled up into a tight sleeping position and closed his eyes. His breathing became laboured and he started to experience a burning pain squeezing his lungs. He kept his mouth tightly shut, holding back the urge to yowl in agonizing pain. After a few minutes of this torture his body grew relaxed and his breathing calmed, in fact, he wasn't breathing at all.
A starry mass lifted from the large tom's body and bounded through the ceiling and into the sky, a few stars peeled off from the blue-tinged black abyss and met the other. They paused for a second, seeming to communicate without words and then loped towards the other stars, together.
