Hayden's P.O.V.
Liam's car pulls into the driveway as he holds the door open for Paige. Her blonde hair blows in the wind as he takes her onto the front porch. He lifts her up and kisses her neck and cheeks over and over. Barf.
"Hey, Hayden." Paige smiles at me. I nod and smile. I'm pretty sure if I said any words they wouldn't have been nice ones. Paige has been here for almost a week now and I seriously am surprised that I haven't said anything hurtful to her. She's a great girl I'm just impressed by my actions.
"We are going out to lunch. You should come, Hay." Liam says.
"I don't think that's a good idea." I look the other way to avoid awkward eye contact.
"Can we have a minute, babe?" Liam asks Paige. She nods and leaves the room.
"Hay, what's going on?" He asks and takes a seat next to me on the couch.
"Nothing."
"Obviously you're lying. It's summer and all you've done for the past week is sit in this exact spot and watch tv." I fold my arms at his words. I know he's right. Do I want to tell him why I'm upset? Hell no.
"I said it was nothing. And why should you care?"
"You're my older sister, by 2 minutes. I care about what you're going through. I'm just looking out for you."
"I can look out for myself. I've done it for 18 years."
"C'mon Hayden-"
"Don't 'c'mon Hayden' me. You know it's true. You and mom both don't care and to be honest it's fine by me." I fold my arms. I am independent. I sort of had to be as a kid, so I just have trust issues. The only person I trust is my dad and he is in Iraq. Just my luck.
"Just, come to lunch with us. Paige really likes you and she wants to get to know you better." Liam pleads.
"Fine. But if I want to go home, you take me home."
"It's a deal." He shakes my hand and I roll my eyes. Paige and Liam basically drag me out to the car. I take a seat in the back and the two love birds sit in the front. I could seriously barf right now from all of there 'catching up'.
We arrive at a restaurant and walk through the entry doors. Liam grabs Paige's hand and drags her back and I follow behind them. I don't know where they are going. I spot a table with the other guys at it and they all wave and I smile back. Liam, Paige, and I take seats at their table while we exchange hellos. My seat is next to Niall and Paige and Liam are next to Harry and Zayn. I wonder where Avery, Kaiden, and Noel are. Whatever.
"Hey, Hayden. What's happening?" Niall asks in a cute Irish accent. I talked to him multiple times throughout our years of school, but I never got used to his accent.
"Nothing much. How about you?"
"Living life. You know, the usual." He smiles and I smile back. I see someone that I never ever wanted to see again walk through the door with a girl. Louis. He and his whore make it back to our table and his eyes interlock with mine and his face goes blank. I lean into Niall and he puts his arm around me.
"I know what you're doing." Niall whispers in my ear. "I'll play along."
"Thank you." I whisper back. He's such a nice guy. I see Louis look at Niall's arm around me with anger in his eyes. Why should he care? He's here with another girl.
"Hey, Lou. What's up?" Harry asks.
"Just wanted to eat." Louis answers still looking at me. I'm pretty sure that everyone can feel the tension in the air. It's almost choking me.
"Hi, Natasha." Liam says and the girl waves. I remember that name from one of the texts. She gives me a smirk and I automatically hate her. Louis still hasn't taken his eyes off of me. Niall senses this and decides to step things up a bit. He feeds me a fry and I gladly take it. I can almost see the steam coming out of Louis's ears.
"Can I talk to you, Hayden? Alone?" Louis asks and I shrug. He basically drags me outside and sits me down on a bench.
"What the hell?" He asks. I shrug, pretending I don't know what he is talking about.
"You know what I'm talking about. Why the fuck are you all over Niall?" The anger is clear in his voice.
"We weren't all over each other. I should ask you the same about Natasha."
"Natasha isn't one of your friends it's not the same." He snaps.
"But, I didn't sleep with Niall." I fire back.
"God dammit, Hayden! You see what you're fucking doing right now?"
"I know what I'm doing. I'm just stating the facts." I say and he throws his hands in the air.
"Why should it matter what I do with other guys? It obviously doesn't matter what you do with other girls." I snap.
"It does matter, okay? It just does." He runs his fingers through his hair. Louis storms off and I guess the conversation is over. I start to head back inside when a car pulls up close to me. Louis rolls down the window.
"Get in."
A/N: So I think I might be continuing this book, but idk.
