AN- Sorry this is kinda crappy
1.
James was getting bullied a lot. It went away for a little while, but all of a sudden it was back. He took his bag out of his locker and shut it. It took a few seconds but he finally got his bag closed."Faggot." Someone said, knocking his bag down.
Another person picked up his bag and opened it. They then dumped all of his stuff onto the floor and walked away. James knelt down and started to clean up his stuff, when he noticed someone helping him. It was Thomas Jefferson.
2.
At lunch no one sat with James. He usually never ate lunch. Nobody cares enough to make him. So that day James was startled when someone sat at his table. He looked up and saw it was the guy who helped him a few days before. Thomas Jefferson."Do you mind if I sit here?" Thomas asked as he looked at James.
James didn't speak. He just nodded. He usually didn't speak to other people.
"Here. You want this sandwich? It's not the one I ordered, and you don't have any food." Thomas said, sliding a sandwich to James.
James took it as pity and slid the sandwich back. Thomas gave him a sad smile.
"It's okay if you don't want this particular sandwich, but you should eat something."
The next day Thomas bought James lunch
3.
James spent most of his free time doodling or reading. Currently, he was doodling a cat. The cat he had always wanted."You're good at art." Someone said as they walked by him.
It was different from the things usually said to him. It was said by Thomas.
4.
James wiped the tears flowing down his cheeks with his sleeve. He was sitting in a stall in the cold school bathroom. He heard someone walk in and he tensed up. The person didn't burst in and call him names. Instead, a tissue box was slid under the door. James took it and was going to give a small thank you to the person, but they were gone. He sat back against the wall and looked at the box. It had a smiley face saying don't be sad and the name Thomas written under it.5.
James stood on the edge of the bridge clutching the letter. He looked down at the almost 250 foot drop below him. He read the short letter once over again.Dear Thomas Jefferson,
Thank you for the kindness you have shown me over the last two weeks. Sadly you put your kindness towards me. I was a waste. Now you don't have to put pity on me anymore. I'm sorry.
Sincerely, James Madison.
James pocketed the letter and listened to the sounds around him. The distant honking of the cars in the city was quite peaceful. James looked down and wondered where he would land. There was a barbed fence and rocks next to it. James decided the rocks would be a good option. He lightly pulled his hands away from the railing on each side of him, and closed his eyes. He leaned forward but was all of a sudden pulled back over the railing. He looked at the ground under him and started crying. He looked at the person who saved him. It was the one and only Thomas Jefferson.
"Are you okay?" Thomas asked softly as he hugged the shaking boy.
"I'm sorry..I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry..." James cried out, barely audible. He hadn't spoken in so long so his voice was quiet and hoarse.
"Shhh just look at the stars." Thomas said simply as he held James close.
James looked up to see a dark sky splattered with bright stars. He wiped the flowing tears away with his grey sweater.
October 4, 2014. A date James and Thomas will never forget.
