"Damn she looks so hot."
I closed my eyes and ran a hand through my long black hair absently in frustration.
"I know right?" I hear another voice say out loud.
"Hey, Vanessa!" The same voice shouted from the close distance.
I sighed.
I turn my head around looking at the school's most popular football members.
"Find some other girl to gawk at," I said sounding irritated. "And don't take a picture because I don't want you staring at me any longer."
They walked away hurdling together. Well, what a relief.
"I don't get you sometimes Vanessa," My friend Amy chimed.
"What?" I answered. "Men get on my last nerves."
"Vanessa, ever since you and-"
"Don't say his name," I said cutting Emma off. "I don't even want to talk about him, nor do I wanna mention his name."
"Changing the subject," Amy said breaking the tension between us. "You got some explaining to do Carmen," Amy said giving Carmen a dirty look.
"What for?" Carmen said surprised.
"You and Freddy," Amy laughed softly.
"Yeah, I been meaning to ask you about what happened when you guys came back so late last night," I joked.
"I-I wasn't out l-late with Freddy," Carmen said sounding nervous. "Just friends. Hanging out. Yeah." "It's not like I like him or something," Carmen continued.
I tried to raise an eyebrow in an 'im intrigued' kind of way, but I think I only managed to make a weird face.
It was soon silent. "We all know your lying," I said fiercely.
"Okay. Okay, as if I didn't make it obvious enough already," Carmen admitted.
"Next thing you'll be is Carmen Blake," I said.
Carmen blushed. "Wait! No!"
"So Emma you haven't talked much," Carmen said timidly trying to change the subject. "My parents just dropped off my friend, Jax Hunter," Emma said while looking at her phone. "He's new around here so we should hang out with him at lunch."
"I'm so excited," I said sarcastically.
"You are going to talk to him," Amy said.
"Why me?" I questioned.
"You need to open up to more guys," Amy said while smiling.
I hesitated.
"I have an annoying older twin brother, adorable baby brother, and my cocky ass dad, I think that's all I need to open up to," I said while crossing my arms.
"You are gonna talk to him. You hear me, young lady?" Amy squinted her eyes.
"Yes, mom."
"See you at lunch," Amy said and they all walked off.
I sat down in the waiting area of the school and waited for my brother Freddy to come sit.
"Hey baby sis," He said while grabbing the chair to sit down.
"Hi big bro," I Instantly brought a smile to his face. I always said that to make him lose the tough, cocky act. "And your friends are gawking and drooling at me."
"Whatever, I got somewhere to be anyways," he said carelessly. "Later, hater," Freddy said while getting up.
"I'm the better twin," I said challenging him.
